🎉 I was lucky enough to witness Boomer's greatness during his college days at Maryland. I attended the Terps game against Wake Forest in 1983. It was a high scoring game and Boomer was sensational in leading Maryland to victory.

I didn''t even know he was a fellow New Yawkah until he played too briefly for the Jets, but I was a fan of his while he was in his prime with the Bengals. He's an easy interview because he has plenty to say and knows how to present himself, but still I have to reluctantly say that even Stugotz did a great job in this segment. I hope we will now see an interview by Stugotz of Patrick Beverley 🤭

Respect Boomer but the NFL has to keep fresh viewers. A lot of guys playing from the early and mid 2000s are now leaving the game so to keep familiarity it’s hard to still have guys from the 90s and 80s trying to talk and commentate like they left the game 3 years ago.

I agree somewhat. As an old-school dude that actually saw Boomer play back in the day, I understand new blood is needed. But regardless of familiarity, the former players have to be interesting and intriguing. Shaq and Barkley are very entertaining, and they haven't played in 20 years.

Listen, they’re in their 60’s now. They’ll still work because it’s who they are, but it’s time to cut back and enjoy the family. They both had incredible runs; I loved listening to Phil call games because he was awesome at it. They were both really good NFL QB’s and legendary broadcasters. I wish the best for them and their families
