This is the type of content what makes me love Colin. I love how Colin just allows Benedict to tell the story without interruption, then when he finished, Colin transitions with a great question. What makes a question great is when it is asked, it is something that we all were sort of stew in our mind but can't quite grasp yet. Great journalists can find those questions during interviews -- this comes down to the journalists research.

@@BooHefner I respect LeBron. I won't never ever disrespect him. Because to me life is more important than a game. He is a winner on and off the court. That's more impressive to me than just winning championships. I realize some people may think that is corny but I understand as a black man. What it is like to grow up poor without a father and make something of yourself. He has done things for himself and everyone that has been a part of his life....and kids that have not been a part of his life. He makes a difference both on and off the court. That separates him in my eyes.

What’s amazing about LeBron is he never changes. He always said he won’t speak on topics he doesn’t understand like China and has kept to it. But speaks up for the Black community and what they need and deserve constantly. That’s great leadership.
@rackball5858
@rackball5858 Жыл бұрын
The problem with that is he did speak about China by calling out Daryl Morey making him look like a greedy hypocrite. Lebron is the ultimate capitalist(and there’s nothing wrong with that) but if something has the potential to hurt Lebron’s pockets in which Morey’s stance had the potential to do, Lebron voice is raised. The way the media has lifted Lebron up to be an Ali-like figure is nauseating & ridiculous.

@@thedon2703 he literally has MJ beat in every statistical category other than ppg. He’s the all time leader in points AND top 10 in assist, leader in first team all nba, in all star selections. It takes a strong man to move on but it takes a stronger man to forgive.. Bron could have made the declaration of his decision nicer but Dan's response was overboard as if lebron didn't give his best to save his franchise and as if he didn't brought that trash team to the finals and eastern conference twice. That's why i salute Bron for being so forgiving and even fulfilled his promise to bring a chip though i believed that bron even didn't owe them anything, but he still did because he loved that city. And that's what makes him the real goat in my eyes.

But every story can easily be verified since almost every person involved is still alive. And when it comes down to a writer's credibility, you have to view their track record. Jeff Benedict has written 16 nonfictional books. He has written several biographies of iconic sports figures. He has never had any serious credibility issues, always cites sources. In other words, the person telling these stories has a credible track record.

You people don't still get it until today. Lebron saying that morey was not educated didn't mean that he was favored of whatever chinese government was doing to its people, it's him saying that morey SHOULD NOT stick his nose to other people's political business because it could ruin the athletes business brand such as their shoes, their tour or appearances. Their shoes are not just their brand but their business/source of income. Lebron doesn't speak for himself alone but for all the athletes, it could also has a negative impact on the country's economy and could ruin the relationship between NBA and China. People like you who have nothing to lose for just opening their mouths should just shut up and try to understand deep what others were trying to convey.. You haters are just straight stupid sometimes. It's sad that your hatred cloud your better judgment and make you look like a fool.

I can't wait to read the chapter about the SEMINAL moment where Lebron (and a few other N.B.A. teams) decide they are not going to play their PLAYOFF game, because police officers were not going to be indicted over the shooting of Jacob Blake (Who was completely in the wrong). That was the day the NBA took a back seat in my life. We always talk about being on "The right side of history". Maybe this chapter will explain how remorseful Lebron felt about this incident and that he regrets taking the incorrect stance of turning the NBA into a device political tool.

THE BAHAMAS says that Lebron's "DECISION" to join the Miami Heat was not a "mis-step" or a "low point" in his career. THE DECISION was a defining point in the NBA- CBA relationship which allowed MEN to become MEN and demonstrate their ability to not only play basketball ... but make DECISIONS FOR THEMSELVES. Lebron James is unique in that his DECISION proves that he is THE CHOSEN ONE and KING AMONG MEN. And the latter title should have been the title of this man's book. Jus sayin.
