Despite having only one scoring title, LeBron James has averaged 25 points per game for 17 straight seasons. And one day after 33-year-old Steph Curry became the oldest scoring champion since 34-year-old Michael Jordan, LeBron took to social media claim people often overlook his production for another stat. He tweeted his own scoring accomplishment and said QUOTE: 'Since I was 19 years old! And I’m a pass first guy. Always been. That’s why I’m never mentioned with the greats of scoring huh?? That’s perfect cause I’d rather keep it that way!' Hear what Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe have to say about LeBron defending his legacy.

The fact that he listed MJ and Kobe was quite unnecessary and borderline disrespectful right after MJ and Kobe were in the media after Kobe’s hall of fame induction. Lebron gets his name mentioned in the media everyday. If he’s got a ton of points that’s because he’s played longer or he’s been more consistent and everyone knows that. The only thing they mention is he does not have as many ways to score as other pure scorers and that’s true too. What else does LeQueen want? MJ after seeing post: “That’s when I took it personal.”

Lebron isn’t mentioned as a great scorer because he isn’t skilled. He bully balls his way to points. Considering he gets the majority of his points from within 12 feet, and is only shooting .5 better than MJ, it’s easy to see why he isn’t or mentioned as a great scorer.

Lmao, Boasting his "Also-ran" awards. Jordan has 8 30+ seasons. All time scorers have multiple scoring titles (Kareem, Jordan, Iverson...), thats why lebron is not in the picture. Besides, his records are made after 2005 when rules made scoring easier and the defensive three-seconds rule weakened defenses big time and 3 pt shooting became the thing.

@back2back379
@back2back379 3 жыл бұрын
@@johncena4096 No, that's a very casual surface level take. Why do you think Jordan's assists numbers dropped all of a sudden after Doug Collins left and Phil Jackson took over as the coach? Jordan was averaging 33/8/8 on 54% FG in just his 4th full season, playing under Doug Collins and playing ball dominantly all the time. Had he continued to play his career that way, it's perfectly reasonable to think he would have continued to improve on those numbers and averaged numbers like 37/10/10. Instead, Jordan began to play more off the ball, which dropped his assists numbers, but made his other teammates better by doing so as all they would have to do is make simple passes to Jordan as Jordan did all kinds of work off the ball to scramble the defense. In the Last Dance, Jordan talks about this, saying at first he didn't like Phil Jackson because he wanted to take the ball out of Jordan's hands while Doug Collins wanted to always keep the ball in Jordan's hands. Had the ball always been in Jordan's hands though, he wouldn't have made players like Scottie Pippen, Ron Harper, Toni Kukoc better, as they wouldn't have been able to utilize their skills, they would have been relegated to being jump shooters standing around ala Kevin Love/Chris Bosh. Jordan would probably have been something like 3-3 in the Finals instead of 6-0 playing that way. Realize, oftentimes the "creation" of a shot is done by the player off the ball, while the player with the ball just has to make the simple read and pass, and get credited with an "assist."

I'm going to get a lot of hate for this but in my opinion his peak was better than Jordan's. His only problem was less than subpar teammates so he never had the team success.

I mean no one said Lebron is not a great scorer but winning 10 scoring titles in 11 healthy seasons is more impressive scoring-wise than 17 seasons with 25ppg. That shows immense consistency and durability. Plus when people talk about great scorers they take into consideration the versatility in which these players score. That's why no one mentions Karl Malone as a top-tier scorer although he is 2nd all time. Oh and btw Jordan averaged more APG in his career than Pippen

Lebron: “ im the goat” Lebron: “ I’m gonna be in the Mount Rushmore” Lebron: “ I don’t get mentioned amongst the great scorer” Lebron: “ I don’t care about that, that’s the way I like it” There’s has never been a player in the NBA that talks about how great he is, more than lebron.

the reason he isn't necessarily mentioned as a great 'scorer' is because he isn't known as a 'shooter', i think that's what people refer to by 'scorer'. someone who has a reliable shot that can make it at a high % at all locations on the floor...

@@HF-eb8kf Lebron only scores because he's the greatest PHYSICAL mismatch ever created, you're either gonna be too small or too slow to guard him. He's not a skilled scorer, he's like the dad beating his 7yr old kid in the driveway with all layups.
