This defense holy shit. If he kept 70% of that up through the regular season, he'd be first team all-defense. This man turns it all the way up in the playoffs. At 35 years old. What an actual machine.

He's the best baksetball mind in the league, both offensively and defensively. There's the famous story that Raptors made a computerized program to study perfect defensive positions for their players but LeBron was actually better than the program. @@dripdrop4782 Hello, if you fully read his comment, this is what he said, "When he's locked in defensively, he is best wing defensive player in the NBA period". I am sorry but I can talk about 1 million things that is wrong with this statement. You can't call someone the best wing defender if they only decide to turn it up when they want to, period. You are literally disrespecting guys like Ben Simmons and Marcus Smart who play consistently high levels of defense night in and night out, and quite frankly, still play better defense than Lebron during games when he "decides to turn it up defensively". He is still way too damn inconsistent with his effort, and his perimeter defense against shifty players is just something left to be desired..

Heck no, not even close. Don’t disrespect Davis like that. Lebron definitely stepped up his defense in the playoffs, but please don’t say that he was at least on Davis’ level in the Portland or Denver series. Defense is more than just making the eye-popping plays, the highlights, the “Emphatic chase-down blocks”, or the late-game charges. While one can argue that Lebron’s defensive highlights may look more imposing and intimidating than that of Davis, you can’t ignore Davis’ real value in the defensive end. What makes Davis so great is not only his rim protection, but his defensive versatility and his true ability to guard from 1 to 5. Davis is a defensive god. He got robbed my dudes. Davis>Giannis. Davis is the Lakers defense. Laker defensive scheme is built around Davis. Without Davis, Lakers defense will fall like how the Roman Empire fell in 476 AD. Davis is the Laker’s foundation on defense and makes everyones life on defense easier and that includes Lebron. To make it clear, Lebron is the Laker’s Offense, and Davis is the Laker’s Defense. And this is coming from a New Orleans native. Thanks for reading!

@speedymaster5758 4 жыл бұрын
Well when ya spend 1million dollars a year on ya body then that’s 1 good reason why he can last as long as he has. Also he plays in a cupcake rules era, he only plays 60-65 games per season in the regular season whilst playing 35 minutes or so per game, so yeah those 3 reasons alone explain his longevity. Yep the goat 😂 going on another team, team jumper. And how can he be the goat when he has less rings than Kareem bill and MJ and with far less accomplishments than MJ in particular 🤔 and how can one be the goat when he has been swept twice in the FINALS 🤔 yes finals not play offs. MJ is 6 and 0 with no game 7 in his finals record.
@VergoIzCuruga
@VergoIzCuruga 4 жыл бұрын
@@speedymaster5758 Your view of GOAT is completely different than mine, so we can just have our opinions, I have my views, you have yours. To me 6:0 means nothing, he is not undefeated he was swept in first round which is far worse to me. I would rather be 6:6 than 6:0, going into the finals is greater than being swept in first round and LBJ still balling so we can expect a ring or two more, his career is not over yet, wait 4-5 years for it then come back to this comment. Other players can spend a million on their bodies so what is your point there? Rings = team achievements + coach..., MJ didn't play alone, yet LBJ averaged great stats and played better in some of his final loses but he just played against better teams with worse supporting cast.
@speedymaster5758
@speedymaster5758 4 жыл бұрын
@@VergoIzCuruga Yeah swept in the first round with no other help or all star till his 3rd season. James had help and a solid supporting cast from the beginning compared to MJ. And thats a fact buddy. And MJ didn't jump teams when things got tough, he didn't go team jumping to find more super players. MJ developed the team around him and stayed in one spot. Lebron will play for another 4-5 years more than likely, and by the end of his career he will surpass MJ in all stats and maybe accomplishments, but MJ has done more with less in less seasons than lebron did after 13 seasons. It has taken Lebron ALOT LONGER to accomplish what MJ did with ONE TEAM ONLY not jumping from team to team to create a super team. That will be his legacy and lets not forget he single handily destroyed the NBA name/brand/league within the last few months by using the NBA as a political punching bag. I am all for being passionate about something you believe in but don't mix it with a sport, as sports and politics DON'T mix at all. And MJ impact and legacy on the game of basketball will be unmatched and not even lebron will be able to come close to MJ legacy wise and impact wise. And lets not forget that Lebron barely plays 70 games of the regular season and barely plays 40 minutes per game, so of course he will last longer and be able to play longer, and also lets not forget Lebron is playing in the softest League in the past 4 decades. MJ played played all regular season games 8 times compared to lebrons once(It lebron 15 seasons before he played all 82 games by the way) and he claims to be most exhausted player in the NBA what a joke right there with that statement. Mj was a true 2 way player in all 13 seasons with the bulls compared to lebron being lazy as hell past 4-5 seasons so can't call him a true 2 way player as he never won DPOY let alone lead the league in steals and blocks for consecutive seasons. Lebron james is a drama queen, a master flopper, with a player of his size and height, he shouldn't be flopping the way he does lol. Lebron would make a good soccer player with his acting skills and diving skills lol. Todays basketball is all about stamina 3 ball shooting and dunking majority of the time so it definitely IS NOT physically let alone mentally demanding on the body compared to the era in which MJ played in which far more physical, far more mentally challenging. So in final I would take 6-0 over a player who is 4-6 been swept twice and choked against a shit team like Dallas which is far worse then being swept in the first round of the play offs against a Celtics primed team might i add with 5 HOF players and wouldn't have a cry baby on my team who loses his shit when shit aint going his way. I would take MJ's will is willing to die to win and that killer instinct over the traits I see in Lebron. Don't get me wrong he is a elite player but in all honesty he is Scottie Pippin 2.0 with added extras of Magic thrown in being a elite passer. But Lebron wouldn't make my starting 5 let alone my bench

🤣🤣 good one buddy. Where is the good crack your smoking ? Your drama queen ain’t won a DPOY let alone a handful of scoring titles, so your man wouldn’t clamp down MJ at all. A prime mj would be too quick with his hands and feet on defending your drama queen and way too quick on his feet to be guarded by drama queen James and would blow right by him. This is 3 minute clip of defensive highlights over a entire play off series against numerous opponents, MJ would do this in just handful of games in his prime during the regular season also. MJ takes his game to a whole different level when the play offs around. I do suggest you go watch some prime MJ defensive highlights of him from 87-93 when he was in his prime defensively. Also I don’t recall drama queen James leading the league in steals and blocks 2 seasons straight either 🤔 like MJ did

You have completely deflected my comment. And I am not a MJ fan, Pip and Rodman are my ball players. And for MJ to be "exhausted" as you say he was, well being a true 2 way player and playing over 40 minutes a game for 80 plus games a season every season (except 2 seasons) out of 13 seasons tends to do that buddy, where as your man James took him 15 seasons before he played all 82 regular season games.

EVERYBODY else in history, is not expected to score, or play defense, til the playoffs or 4th quarter, and then are considered all time greats. Only lebron must guard the other teams best player, protect the basket, guard his own teammates man (while guarding his own), aaaand score 30 pts, for the whole year (and especially in the 4th quarter), then increase his numbers, in the playoffs, and increase his scoring in the 4th quarter, while guarding the other teams best player..... EVEN AT 35! Those expectations are only for a god! MJ didn't have those expectations. Kareem didn't have those expectations. Kobe, magic, larry bird, allen iverson, dr. J, paul peirce, kevin Garnett, wilt Chamberlain, didnt't have those expectations. Lebron James is so much better, that you have to have different expectations and different standards than you have for those other guys. It's like the expectations for a genius vs. regular smart high schoolers. No disrespect to those other guys. Lebron is the GOAT and it even close in my opinion

@@Mac-29 No, Marc Gasol deserved the DPOY in 2013. Look at the advanced stats and you’ll see. LeBron’s 2 best defensive seasons are EASILY 2009 and 2012. Dwight deserved in 2009, but LeBron definitely should’ve won the DPOY in 2012 over Tyson Chandler.

It was amazing to see how he still could defend. Honestly, for last three seasons, he was a liability at defensive end.

*The past 2 seasons also he wasn’t good like at all but he defiently has never been a liability on defense in his career 🤦🏾‍♂️ Just glad to see him back ingaged

@@someone-eb1wh ummmm even Kuzma (holy shit) pushed him to defend last season, and Cavs played defense like shit on regular season at 2017-18 when he was on court. (Look at their def rtg. it was 29th, and their opp pts was 26th. Their defense was disgusting. Personal def rtg getting worse as he focused on offense more.) I think that's a pretty good reason to call him a defensive liability from 2017-2019. But this season, damn, like you said, his defense was engaged and impressive, especially at bubble as well as playoffs.

He never been a liability on defense. Don’t allow the media to fool you and tell lies because it’s been a few clips of him taking a play off here and there

@@quentincassell840 You didn't read my comment well. Last season, even Kuzma pushed LBJ to defend. Seriously, KUZMA. Meh, too bad I watched too many full games to be fooled by media lol For instance, despite of serious improvement, he was off guard even at game 6. Did you watch, because of miscommunication and lack of efforts(He just watched), he completely gave D.Robinson wide open 3 at 3rd Q on Game 6? Well anyway overall, this season LBJ defense was good, but his defense from 2017 to 2018-19 season was way way worse. (Lack of efforts, reserving energy/stamina, fear of injury and burden, age, and so on) P.S Your comment is exactly how Trump is insisting. No evidence whatsoever, everything other than own comment is a lie shit.

Hyun he pushed him because bron wasn’t paying attention. Had nothing to do with can’t play defense. It easy to find play here and there to create a narrative
