Ok that may be true but Ive watched his whole career and other than that miami season there is like a handful of times that he actually did any of this.... There is a HUGEEE difference between what a player is capable of doing and what a player DOES... so ya he could be a great defender obviously look at him but there is no consistency to his defense and he gives up on his teams its actually embarrassing for someone who is the face of the NBA

You've seen him guard bigs like Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard, giannis, the gasol brothers etc and you've seen him guard shift smaller guys like Russell Westbrook, drose, steph, Tony Parker, etc. You saw him play good defense on the super skilled guys like Kobe, Melo, James harden, KD, Paul George, Kawhi etc. He's one of, if not the only player in league history to literally play all 5 positions. To try to characterize his whole defensive career by his latter yrs is disingenuous at the very least.

Most of you guys have probably seen that clip of lebron letting someone shoot a 3pointer wide open and not closing out but the reason he does those type of plays Is ,cus he scouts his opponents. The dude was a bad 3point shooter so he let him shoot and ,cus he will most likel miss it will be an easy reabound with lebron and other Lakers in there but ,cus it went it people say he doesn’t play defense or he is bad on D.
