His longevity is so underrated. I was in year 5 when he first started playing and now I'm a fully grown man with a wife and kid.😱😱 It's almost impossible to fathom his accomplishments during that time (I can't be asked to list all of his achievements but any casual could reel them off). Irrespective of where you sit on the GOAT debate, you have to acknowledge his undoubted greatness as a basketball player and recognise the huge void that will appear once he retires.

Even though LeBron has gotten better with age, young LeBron on the Cavs was the most exciting basketball player I have ever seen. I'll say this about Lebron. He has a certain way of playing that _feels_ like greatness. He can make a play seem effortless, graceful and also completely dominant at the same time. Like no one on the floor can touch him, and he can do absolutely whatever he wants to do in that moment. All anybody can do is watch. I get why people call him the king. When he makes these incredible plays, its hard to deny.

@@LMBC6Brian - LeBron is great no doubt, but Jordan averaged 35ppg while also dominating on defense in a defensive era when sub 80pt games and clotheslining penetrators were common. LeBron has everything except the finesse, the footwork, the FT percentage, and that unbreakable killer instinct. He’s a momma’s boy which is the opposite of Jordan. People talk about Bron’s court vision, but Jordan had that too. He just didn’t need to use it since he took on the responsibility of carrying the team on his shoulders. What LeBron has over Jordan in terms of size Jordan made up for in pure skill. Nobody was even close to him, period and as good as he was I believe he would have gone to an even higher level if LeBron was in the league challenging him back then. Not enough can be said about Jordan’s mental strength.
@billputney2533
@billputney2533 2 жыл бұрын
@@kingwillie206 actually the main reason Lebron doesn’t score +30 ppg is because of his vision and teamwork. He incorporates his teammates throughout the entire game, sacrificing his points, then doubles down during the second half. Lebron is capable of scoring 30+ ppg a season, it just wouldn’t translate to wins (see “Gilbert arenas says Lebron is the goat” on youtube). That is why he is able to make incredible runs with lack luster talent that Jordan couldn’t. The biggest knock on Jordan is that he only won consistently whenever he had pippen to playmake, a stellar supporting cast to pick up the rest of the stats, and eventually Rodman to rebound. He was on some the the most perfectly created rosters of all time, so all he had to do is score on offense. Lebron had to do all of that. Really defense is the main thing that can clearly go in Jordan’s, but defense DOESNT win championships. He and Kobe are really similar in that regard. The bulls and the lakers didn’t preform well when their support cast wasn’t that great, cause their stars could only score well and play defense. They are both incredible at what they did, Jordan easily being at least top 2, but Lebron is the greatest basketball player of all time. Jordan has better accolades, lebron is the better player
@kingwillie206
@kingwillie206 2 жыл бұрын
@@billputney2533 - I wouldn’t call Pippin and Rodman a “stellar” supporting cast compared to who LeBron played with. What he had was excellent team chemistry lead by himself. And defense does win championships. You can’t win while letting the opposing team score all they want and without grinding for possessions. On ball defense and defensive boards are extremely important! You mentioned Rodman for a reason sir. And LeBron has been shut down by other players while Jordan literally had ZERO challengers. For instance, KD gives LeBron fits on the floor 1v1…..His length stops LeBron offensively and he scores over LeBron with ease. In the end it’s all fantasy and yes, LeBron was absolutely ridiculous in his prime though. He is definitely top 5 all time hands down. Would he dominate Kareem, Wilt, Jordan, and prime Shaq though? Did he dominate prime Kobe?

That’s easily my favorite play/shot ever. It’s kind of ironic, Lebron gets better after he does poorly. A lot of times (a couple on this list) his best blocks involve him turning it over first, then chasing the guy and getting back at him. In that clip, as you probably know, he absolutely butchered a layup just before. He completely threw and everyone thought he just lost them the game. Then he hit that shit. Insta turnaround fade away 3 with the clock almost out? That same guy missed an open layup a minute prior lol

What a great video. Makes me very happy. And then we are still missing his quarterback passes... This man can do it all. So much respect and love for him. We have to savor every moment we have left to see him play imo.

We have no idea how lucky we are to watch the career of Lebron James, and we won’t fully appreciate it until he retires. We have been fortunate to watch the incredible careers of the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Calvin Johnson, Aaron Rodgers, Adrian Peterson, Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, Albert Pujols, Ichiro Suzuki, Alex Rodriguez, Justin Verlander, Clayton Kershaw, Max Scherzer, Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin, Patrick Kane, Connor McDavid, Nathan McKinnon and Auston Matthews to name some off the top of my head. That’s not naming the greats that came before or who we got to see the latter part of their careers. I know a left a ton off the list but those were the ones that came to me when writing the comment.

Now hopefully kids will look this racist idiot up and find him in prison for racism and division of people. He deserves nothing more than life in prison to say the least.
