JJ , plz don't take the Lakers job, even if offered, we need you for the fans! Your podcast is elite, and you are one of the few ppl on media with unopinionated analytical game viewership that is great for some nerdy fans like myself. Stay with us, for the avid basketball nerds! That job from what I know about NBA's coaching carousel is just dead-end, and ur gonna get frustrated with the media attention too much, remember the worst part of having to go in to every presser at end of games and being asked stupid questions at times - it happens to a lot of coaches usually more than players. Stay with media what u doing now, u are bound for success here! The coaching carousel of the NBA I would highly avoid despite your great prospect at being a coach. NBA Coaching is too much more of a drama than need be, and I think informing fans of the game is better right now!

Would love to hear LeBron talk about the Bulls-Heat series his first year in Miami. The Bulls hit the offensive glass and ran the Heat off the floor the first game. My memory is that LeBron made a big effort on the defensive glass to slow the game down, even playing the 4 at times. Wonder if that's how LeBron remembers it. Then he guarded Rose in the final possessions. The thought that he could make a difference on defense at four positions started me thinking about the GOAT discussion.

The part about Good Offense Down the Stetch, especially playoff games/series made me think of the Mavs this year (2024): Almost every close game so far, Kyrie has been last active shooting/scoring in the 1st half (and even the 3rd qtr). The 4th qtr comes and it is a part of the plan for Kyrie to run sets for him to create off the dribble. He continuously makes 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. shots (most incredibly tough) and it works. He finishes with his typical #s even if he has 8 going into the 4th. The extra caveat to this is if Luka is in a groove, they might ride that and Kyrie picks his moments. Either way, their offensive production seems intentional and increases in the 4th. How a player or players can consistently do something like this is wild but the trust and acceptance of the other players to allow it. If Kyrie is going off in the 4th, Luka knows and he lets it ride. If Luka is in his bag, Kyrie knows and he lets it ride. For this reason and watching the way they play help defense (or help the helper and scramble), I think they win it all this year. We will see. It's not like Denver or Minnesota get poor shots down the stretch - Denver definitely gets great shots and tightens up. Boston gets stagnant and Minnesota can get predictable imo.

I know this is a compilation of bits from the previous podcasts but I would love to hear him talk about that 2012 Game 6 vs Boston. After Miami shit the bed and lost home court advantage they had to win. If that game went any different his whole career could have looked a lot different. Riley could've blown up the big 3. If they won but LeBron didn't play that well you would've never stopped hearing all the Robin to Batman talk. I'd love to hear how he prepared, on the court and mentally. I don't think anyone had seen him like that ever before. He pretty much played the whole game (until it was clear it was a blowout), no hesitation, no uncertainty in his moves. Even when he went to Miami being booed and hated by everyone he still played with a certain playfulness to him but this game it was all business.
