I’m 47 years old and was lucky enough to see MJ play live about a dozen times. I was at 2 of the 1993 Finals games here in Phoenix against the Suns and the All-Star game in 1994 plus a few home games against the Bulls during the regular season. I seen Kobe play a bunch of times when I lived in Los Angeles from 1997-2009. My buddy’s family has season tickets from Magics rookie year and they had amazing seats. I’ve seen LeBron play live as well but MJ was just different. He was a assassin on that court. Kobe was the closest I had ever seen play. I’m from Phoenix and Kevin Johnson was my favorite Suns player. That dunk on Hot Rod Williams is one of the best dunks in NBA history still to this day. But during that 1993 Finals MJ took the Suns to school. Charles Barkley had a amazing season that year also. I think that he got the MVP that year if I remember correctly. The Suns had a great team with KJ,Barkley,Majerle,Cedric Ceballos,Danny Ainge,Dumas,Tom Chambers and Kurt Rambis but they were no match for MJ and the Bulls. The younger generations who never got to see MJ play don’t have a clue as to how good MJ was. When the NBA had the 75 year celebration in Cleveland a few years ago they weren’t sure if MJ was going to show up and when he did those all star,hall of fame players all realized just how big MJ really was. Allen Iverson and some of the other players who were there have talked about the experience and I suggest that people check them out. All the younger generations what shoes are all of them wearing? I’m hey are not wearing LeBrons or Kobe’s like they wear Jordan’s. Why is that? To me and my generation,Gen X,MJ will always be the GOAT. To win a 3 Peat in that era of basketball was no easy feat. Also to come out of retirement and do the same is simply amazing. MJ is the GOAT and will always be in my book.

Nobody (that knows anything) says Jordan wasn't a good shooter. People say he wasn't a good 3-point shooter, of which he was fine at, just not great. For his overall shooting, he was one of the best shooters ever.
@Philthorn2 ай бұрын
He was average when it came to 3 point shots ON PURPOSE. In an old interview, he said that the 3 point shot is not something he wants to excel at because it took away from his overall phase of game, the quote "fake drive to the hole, penetrate dish off, dunk whatever" and with that type of mentality he couldn't afford to wait at the 3 point line all the time

He was a good three point player. You guys forget in that era 3 pointers weren’t really done that much. But if you look at his stats regarding how many times he attempted a 3 and how many times he made it, you’ll see his percentage is great for that era. Jordan had no weaknesses and bron has SEVERAL. And you need to get something else straight Bronson stats aren’t even close to Jordan’s and I’ll put the video in the chat to prove it.

In 1989, he played 17 games, primarily as a point guard. His average was nearly a triple-double per game. He also had a streak of 10 triple-doubles in 11 games. In his first game as a point guard, he recorded 15 assists. During the 1991 Finals against the Lakers, he averaged over 11 assists per game.
@Boogie_161Ай бұрын
Jordan was a 50% shooter…for a guard. Shooting 50 for a career? He was a deadly shooter, dunker, his layups were like works of art, he didn’t shoot 3s because it took away from the other aspects of his game. Driving, dishing, opening up the floor. Jordan refused to lose, never passed the buck at crunch time. Always took responsibility for his team failing (which is rare). Lebron isn’t a skilled player…that’s not hate, that’s just facts. Jordan always played defense - even in his 40s. There was no days off. Like a previous commenter said you had premier players during Jordan’s time. Dominique, McGrady, Carter, Payton, Kemp, Olajuwon, Stockton and Malone, Bird, Thomas, Rodman, Ewing, Barkley, Magic, Mourning, Larry Johnson, Tim Hardaway, Penny Hardaway and many more. It’s easy for young cats to say there was nobody else when they don’t know or ever saw them play. It’s arrogant and the only group of fans who never saw players play and make outlandish blanket statements. Ridiculous Jordan is the goat because it’s taken all of Lebron’s longevity to catch some of his records. He technically played 15 years but really it was 13 he was amazing, never be another like him.
@TheOC23342 ай бұрын
Lebron leads in total stats because of longevity but Jordan has better averages in stats. Compare Jordan’s first twelve years to Lebron’s.

MJ and I were in high school here in NC during the same time period in the early 80's, so I've followed him his whole career. I've seen A LOT of basketball on all levels over my lifetime. Michael shot over 50% as a SG. He was an excellent 3-point shooter. But he understood something that players today just do not learn (or even care about); shooting the highest percentage shot available. Today, players just heave up 3's continuously whether they have a clear shot or even need a 3 at that point of the game. It's made the game very sloppy today. Whether it was a 3, a mid-range, lay up, or dunk, MJ and most other players in the 80's/90's either took the highest percentage shot that was available to them at that moment or passed it to a team mate who was in a better position for a higher percentage shot. Basketball IQ was much better back then. Plus, Michael did all of this during the NBA's Golden Era (80's/90's), the toughest and most talent rich period in NBA history. Great video, I really enjoy all of your reactions.

I would say in no time in any sport did fans consider a player a goat because because they were able stay stay around and continue to accumulate stats. No other 20 year players have their longevity in the league considered as part of their GOAT argument. This is a focus made to boost the debate for LeBron. If he was still winning or fighting for championships then we would have a reason to discuss longevity in his debate. All I get from this is a person who is stat padding and playing for the Contract dollars.

The rules of basketball say that traveling is a turnover. Now imagine LeBron having to actually play by the rules. And LJ travels constantly in order to be as effective as he is. He also manages his games minutes and complains like hell about contact. He also takes play off and jogs. I can't watch him. Its not basketball. And the contact you see in this video is nothing! Watch the Voyager videos and see that MJ did all this while literally being beaten to death on a regular. There's no GOAT debate. MJ was an entirely different cat.

Being to the finals and being 6-0 are two different things. I’m 47 years old and MJ will always be the GOAT for my Generation,GEN X. Don’t get me wrong,LeBron is a unbelievable player and is definitely on the Mount Rushmore of the NBA Greats. I’m not one of those dudes that’s not going to give LeBron his dues because he definitely does deserve them. LeBron is a amazing player. When LeBron came into the league there were so many expectations on him and he handled that pressure amazingly well. You never heard bad shit about him. Like him cheating on his chick or any other shitty things like that. He’s a great father and was always there for his family and teammates. LeBron is a amazing basketball player and deserves the accolades he has gotten. Was he better than Jordan? NO,but he’s right up there and that’s ok not to be better than MJ. MJ,Kobe and LeBron are amazing ambassadors for the NBA. RIP KOBE. When that news came out that Kobe had died with Gianna that was very brutal. RIP To all those people that had died that horrible day.

MJ was League MVP, Finals MVP, Scoring Champ and Lead the League in Steals all in the same year. Only one player did that 4 times and was MJ23. Let me throw in better freethrow shooter than LeDiva. People feared MJ they do not fear Lebron. Plus there was hand checking back then and more physical. MJ would dominate Lebron and todays era that plays ZERO D. remember they took hand checking outta the game in 2004 LeDiva second year in the NBA. Basketball is a 2way sport. Offense and defense. Lebron will NEVER. EVER be mentioned as a good defensive player. Not the likes of Jordan. Jordan was a SHUT DOWN defensive player and one of the best defensive players to ever play the game. Back when players took pride in being solid defensive players. Lebron ruled the NBA where rules were changed to boost viewership and boost ratings by making this a high scoring league. Making it harder to defend. Less physicality. No hand checking. Less competitiveness. Lebron ruled the SOFT era of the NBA. The result of this is the sht product you see today. At the 12:00 mark you say "that's how it's supposed to be. leave everything on the court." And then you a Lebron fan? 🤣🤣🤣 He never leaves it ALL on the court. He finds the easy way out to win his championships.

LeBron couldn't do the things Michael Jordan did in the air if he was the only one on the court because he doesn't have that kind of physical ability it's that simple and you don't get to be a professional and not be great because only the greatest get to be professionals just because you are not the greatest professional doesn't mean you're not great out of college players do you have about one in a hundred thousand chance of being a professional player cuz don't tell me they weren't good they were great they just weren't Michael Jordan they didn't have a 48 inch vertical jump I'm neither does LeBron James LeBron has never played defense with a s*** guys drive by him he doesn't even try back in the day everybody played defense hard and I guarantee you most of those better players are than these players today the cars they played all out on both ends of the Court and you didn't see them flopping or making excuses like LeBron James LeBron James ain't got no heart that's why he don't play defense that's where he rests what matters is how many points are you scoring against your Defenders and then how many points is your Defender scoring against you LeBron has been outscored by his Defender so many times it's unreal because he don't play defense you guys you young guys today I don't know s*** about basketball because the most y'all have ever played probably is on the blacktop not not even in high school and especially not in college and then definitely not the division one like I played and even I wasn't good enough to be a professional and I started from the time I made the team for Texas Longhorns as a point guard with a 40 inch vertical jump 13 to 15 assists every game 1 to 2 still every game but they didn't think I was big enough because I was 5 ft 8 but I was still dunking I still had a mid-range jump shot that they couldn't block and I'm talking about fellas that are 7 ft tall as long as you got a high vertical you can shoot over those tall guys especially if you got a little bit of a fallback jump shot so I'm telling you those guys were great and most of them were better than the players today because they were more fundamentally sound and they had to go through a lot more s*** to score because that's when Big Man stayed by the basket and in the paint instead of out there by the three-point line shooting a 3-point shot and they can't even shoot three-point shots but that's all anybody does today is the most boring basketball I've ever watched in my life
