Sir i am reading 'troubleshooting Cisco IP telephony book' but it is based on older version of call manager version 3.0 Would it be lucrative to read this book to get job in Cisco voice environment

Sir one question what is the difference between a publisher and subscriber in Cucm

Publisher - It is your first node in the cluster when you install the CUCM. Subscriber - This will automatically be the second node in the cluster because you can have only One PUB in one Cluster. --------------- PUB - Read/Write Configuration where you do all your configuration and make changes. It will replicate those changes to other servers. SUB - Read Only Version. --------------- PUB - You can have only 1 PUB in cluster SUB - You can have 8 or 16 SUB in one cluster depends whether you are using Normal cluster or Mega Cluster --------------- Both can perform call processing functions but we mainly use SUB as a call processing server , We use PUB for all the configurations.

One question sir, what if the connected device is not a Cisco ip phone the cdp will not work. Then how switch will identify the device?

CDP is only for discovering Cisco Devices, If that device is not Cisco like if that device is Avaya or any other device then LLDP will be used. CDP is Cisco Proprietary while LLDP is open/standard.

Looks like a Network issue, may be an issue in the port itself or may be an issue on the Switch port

@@TechnicalVenture actually multiple phone have same issue. Network connection loss.and Ip phone not getting ip from voice vlan, iphone is Alcatel.

@@er.gulfraj3527 Then its network issue for sure or Switch is faulty from which all these phones are connected, Network connection loss means there is an issue in network, Check with Switching team they will be able to help you
