I recently found the address where my great grandparents lived snd raised their family before immigrating to the US. I look forward to someday getting to Lecce to see for myself and maybe meet some family that still lives in the area

Love the video! Well done showing the Lecce that no one sees, where the heart beat 🙏💫

Thank you 🙌. Glad you enjoyed it. In the end it's just one corner of the large city and doesn't even foreshadow all the beautiful little towns around Lecce. Thanks Davide!

Thanks for this window into living in Lecce, outside of the splendor of the piazza. Looking forward to next vids. The street with the bowling alley had a more charming appeal. These streets were quite a contrast to the touristy views of Lecce.

Looking forward to seeing the Lecce properties, especially the older ones.

Nice. I'll probably present them a bit differently than usual. We'll see how it goes.

Ugh! You left us with a cliff hanger! Lecce has been on my radar. I want to explore that area when life returns to normal. I am waiting patiently for your next video. Thank you for doing.

😂 sometimes life needs a good cliffhanger. Just look at the presidential polls in the US. Crazy stuff. Happy that you like the area. Puglia usa my favorite region. Many great memories there

Interesting too see that a lot off the properties in Southern Italy has little gardens where as in Northern Italy it doesn't look like they have. Thank you for walk through the beautiful village.
@DauvO4 жыл бұрын
You can find little gardens but not typically closer to town centers. Even in the north you can find them, but this area had a lot for sure.

Neighborhood looks like a normal one, if I was just walking down this road, I would never know I was in Italy, many South American cities have gates homes like these.
@DauvO3 жыл бұрын
I am sure of it! I miss the open from lawn neighborhoods that you see in my hometown. No front gates... Just the backyards fenced off

Nice video, thanks for sharing. Lecce looks beautiful. What is the primary job industry there?

Your channel inspired me to come look in Lecce. I'm finding rather high prices 50,000 and up..just wondering if an investment here that is below 50 and requires minor reconstruction such as moving a water outlet.. is worth it.. As I walk the streets of Lecce I see endless BnBs, seems to be an ample supply here..so not sure that venture would work. Guess it would only be worth it if I was going to actually use the apartment myself for part of the year. I tried to contact you through your contacts page for a consultion and am not sure you got it. I didn't see consult fees listed. Thanks for the inspiration from your channel.

9:51 That's a Daihatsu Rocky ,, great little SUV ,, only sold in the US for 3 years ... kind of rare and underappreciated...
@DauvO4 жыл бұрын
Pretty fun little SUV's i have friends back in Idaho that always had the Suzuki version. A little less rare here i think
@josephweisman79814 жыл бұрын
Hi Brian - you have a sharp eye for the Diahatsu Rocky ! That's cool - The two-tone silver and maroon are pretty easy to spot, though. LoL Do you have a Rocky yourself ? I live in Southern California and still own and maintain a 1990 Rocky, that I bought when I lived in Oklahoma in the mid-90's . I get some heads to turn when I'm beach cruising, with the tops off.

This was interesting -- I've been researching properties in Apulia, so I've seen Lecce. Any chance you'll be venturing into the older areas? I've also been researching Piedmont -- do you have any plans of exploring that region at any time?

It drives me crazy to see the abundance of graffiti on these historical buildings.

I too liked the older properties on the street with the bowling alley. I would like to join as a sponsor but the options on KZbin to do so have eluded me. Don’t know how to get there?

Hi Mark! Here's a direct link www.patreon.com/dauvo .. Sorry if it's been confusing. The link is typically in the description, but it's probably difficult to find depending on what device you watch on.

As an American working and living in Italy are you required to pay taxes only where you work (Italy)? As an American aren’t you still required to file taxes and proof of Italian taxes paid while living and working abroad? I too am an American (with German passport) looking to permanently stay in Italy. Thanks for your great content and helpful information.

Dave - how accessible is southern italy to a family with 3 young kids? I know houses and cars are often smaller in Europe, and when we've been there we've always had to rent basically the biggest vehicle that is available (like a Peugot Partner), and struggle to rent homes that would have 3 bedrooms. Is it possible to find homes that have 3-4 bedrooms?
@DauvO4 жыл бұрын
I have 3 myself. There are three and four bedroom homes for sure though the price obviously goes up. In Europe i'd say people are used to smaller spaces, you're right. We bought a 7- seat car twice now and i can say that they are few and far between.
