Another great video full of new and idea inspiring information. I received the link you emailed me in response to my request for the free formula and having no experience in homogenizing lecithin, I have two quick (I think) questions the formula didn't answer - as I'm sure it depends on the batch size: Using the batch size you made in the video as basis, 1. At what RPM did you homogenize, and for about how long of actual motor time (not counting any breaks to allow the homogenizer motor to cool down, if necessary) was required before you were satisfied it was homogenized, and 2. What made you satisfied it was homogenized? Was it just visual inspection with no discernible phase delineation or clumps, or was there something more? Thank you!

Hello, great video! I have a quick question - will 0,4 % of glyceryl stearate citrate added in the cool down phase be enough to stabilize this emulsion? Or is it necessary to pair it with 5% Behenyl alcohol?
@theinstituteofpersonalcare64013 жыл бұрын
Please note glyceryl stearate citrate is an emulsifier and should be added in the hot phase, for proper emulsification (it does not suit adding in cool down phase, it is a solid), and it’s optional to add extra emulsifiers (eg the behenyl alcohol) - this would also need to be added in the hot phase as it is also solid. I have so many questions!! I will definitely be sending an email but, all you did was heat the lecithin in the caprylic triglyceride (essentially the carrier oil for this formulation?) And then homogenize with the water phase. I've seen people 'hydrate' the lecithin with water and then add into the oil phase but I cant find any information on hydrating lecithin. Is this a legitimate thing? ie. wouldn't the emulsion form from using 'hydrated' lecithin? By the way, can these emulsion stabilities be achieved with non-hydrogenated sunflower lecithin? Thanks!!
