The famous yoghurt cake that drives the whole world crazy! Heavenly delicious cake! Treat yourself to the delicate melting texture and the heavenly taste of yoghurt cake, a world -famous dessert that is easy to prepare. This cake is perfect for every occasion and can be individually designed with endless variations such as adding cherries or other fruits. 🍒🍒 jam:
500 g cherries (frozen)
70 g (6 tablespoons / 2.5 OZ) corn starch
150 g (0.8 cups / 5 ounces) sugar
150 ml (0.7 cups / 5 oz) water
🍰 dough:
3 egg yolks
a pinch of salt
80 g (6 tablespoons / 2.8 OZ) powdered sugar
80 g (1 stick) melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
200 g flour
1 teaspoon Baking powder
Separate a small piece of dough and put it in the freezer for 15 minutes.
Baking pan 20 cm
🧁 cream:
500 g Greek yogurt
50 g (4 tablespoons / 1.7 OZ) corn starch
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix well
3 protein
a pinch of salt
130 g (0.7 cups / 4.5 ounces) sugar
Beat until the tips are hard, then lift under the yogurt
Assemble the cake as in the video
1/3 of the dough frozen
Bake for 40 minutes in a well -heated oven at 180 C / 350 F or until the top of the cake opens evenly

I made your cake yesterday for the first time and presented it to a friend for her birthday. Among her guests was an elderly couple that used to run a bakery for decades before they retired. There was nothing but praises for the cake, except from that couple, that got angry, because I never applied for a job at their bakery. They even took two pieces with them, when they left. THANK YOU, thank you, thank you. For a great experience and a recipe, that I will definitely make again. I could taste a small sliver at the party and it really is delicious 😋

I made this today and put almond extract in the dough and it went beautifully with the cherries, but I had to add more sugar to the compote mixture. I also added a 1/2 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to the meringue at the initial frothy stage to provide good structure to the meringue. I'll be making this again

Made this cake , and it was a success, not with cherries tough, but with frozen strawberries and raspberries , I was a bit scared to turn it over, but it came out perfect. Thanks for the recipe 🙏🏻😉❤️😋

Deve essere buona. Una curiosità forse mi è sfuggito qualcosa. Cosa ne hai fatto del pezzo piccolo di frolla che hai tolto e congelato? La faccio sicuramente anche se devo fare un mutuo per le ciliege, visto che stanno a 14 euro al chilo 😂 grazie.🥰

I made it with frozen marionberries I picked last summer. Quite good! I will use less cornstarch in the jam next time, I like it a little softer.

Hi Scott, Himbeeren,am besten noch gefroren dann sind sie für jegliche Süßspeisen besser als jede einzelne frische Himbeeren. So mein Geschmack jedenfalls. Außer Himbeeren wird man mit fast jedem Obst einen super leckeren Traum herstellen und hat Abwechslung und immer wieder,trotz anderem Geschmack, das tägliche Highlight des Tages kreiert. Auch verschiedene Beeren sollten auch mega lecker sein, bon appetit 👍💝🍀🥰😘

Just made this and it's really good. I used a bundt pan and canned cherry pie filling. I added some other frozen berries and then it wasn't thick enough so I added some corn starch. Turned out perfectly.

It's in the oven for 40 min. Update very soon. Update: I put a bit too much sugar in the sour cherries I had but other than that it's a pretty good cake. It made my house smell like those danish cookies in the blue tin, the sewing box we all know and love.

A wonderful cake indeed! Vielen Dank, dass Sie dieses köstliche rezept mit allen teilen! Gram to cup conversion for those of you who need it: German Yogurt and Cherry Cake Filling: 2 ¼ cup fresh or frozen cherries 6 Tbps Corn Starch 3/4 cup of Sugar 2/3 cup of water In a medium saucepan, mix all ingredients together. On medium heat, stir continuously until the mixture becomes very thick. Set aside. Dough: 3 egg yolks A pinch of Salt 6 Tbps Powdered Sugar 1/3 cup melted Butter 1 tsp Vanilla 1 2/3 cup of All Purpose Flour 1 tsp Baking Powder Mix all ingredients and form a ball of dough. Separate about 1/3 cup of the dough, wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the freezer for 15 minutes. In a 20cm fluted baking pan lined with parchment or wax paper, press the dough evenly into the pan so that it covers all sides and bottom. Yogurt Mixture: 1 3/4 cup Greek Yogurt 4 Tbsps Corn Starch 1 tsp Vanilla Mix well. Meringue: 3 Egg Whites A pinch of salt 2/3 cup of Sugar Beat until hard peeks form, and then fold into the yogurt mixture. Then carefully pour over the cherry filling. Grate the reserved frozen dough on top of the meringue. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 40 minutes or until the top of the cake cracks open. Let cool in the pan for 15min, then flip it onto a serving dish. You can either let it cool completely and serve cold or enjoy hot. Güten appetit! *Note: Instead of cherries, you can substitute the filling for apples, blueberries or any other fruit of choice.

Mine just came out ot the oven. I used blueberries I had on hand instead of cherries. I also could not locate the pan you used, so I used a bundt cake pan and it came out amazing! I havent't tasted it as I am taking it to moms for motheres day. thanks for the great recipe.

Quite tasty! Seems more like a pie. Enjoyed learning new techniques while making it. Never before mixed yogurt with merengue or grated frozen crust as a topping. I could only find frozen sweet cherries but I think a sour fruit like raspberries would have worked much better to contrast the merengue and sweet crust.

​@lecker essen oh my gosh, is there a language you don't speak? I am so impressed! Also, I watched a similar video before this from a different youtube channel (your's and their's were recommended by google), and it did not do a good job explaining their recipe. They also made the recipe steps needlessly complex, and had no fruit in their cake. Your video was perfectly done! Thanks to you, I now understand how to make this cake and look forward to shocking my family with this surprise! I haven't baked in years, and my teenager doesn't even know I can do something like this. Thank you so much for giving me the confidence to make this cake. Plus a huge thank you for giving me a homemade treat that I can show my teenager, who has many deadly food allergies, that they can make such delicious allergy-safe foods for themselves into their adult lifetime. Most kids in our current days don't even realize how delicious homemade baked desserts can be, they've never had anything like it. I was a little kid in the 1970s and still recall having to wait 1-2 hours for homemade dinners to cook (no instant microwave), and homemade desserts. Unfortunately I've been stuck in a cooking rut of sticking too close to basics like allergy-safe main dishes, vegetables, homemade breads, and whole fruits. Time to expand our list of homemade desserts with this cake! My cooking list needs to grow!! And same for my teenager (a male who is of course more interested in video games than learning how to cook) knowing how to cook is essential for a person with so many food allergies! I've been letting them get away with taking things easy for too long! Then again, I don't have a kid who is usually interested in sweets, and does eat well with whole veggies, fruits, simple perfectly tender, juicy meats (I cook sous vide. Always perfect proteins. And 24hr sous vide ribs are sheer perfection and crazy easy to make!). We are in Southern California and our fields, hills, and mountains are completely covered with those yellow pom pom looking flowers in your video! It has been quite a beautiful year here after our very, very heavy winter rains after years of drought and seemingly dead brown ground everywhere for the past few years. This year literally everywhere has magically sprouted into endless carpets of flowers, purple lupine, those yellow pom pom flowers in your video, tall willowy canola seed flowers (I recall seeing those also when I visited Germany once), fragrant white desert lilies, desert sage, citrus, and an endless array of other plants, bushes, and trees. The pictures of here don't do it justice, the mountains are currently yellow from such a thick density of flowers, especially those flowers that are in your video. Springtime is so beautiful! And now all of us in the northern hemisphere are all coming into my favorite season: naturally fresh fruits & produce! Nature is such a delight! And adding your recipe to my family's weekend will make things even brighter! Thank you so much 💓 😊 Have a beautful day!!! 🌼 🍽 🍒

It is better to serve it room temperature. So after the oven let it stay on the table a couple of hours. I cut it hot but it is not the best variant.

Magnifique recette de gâteau au yaourt, je connaissais avec des pommes coupées en petits dès, mais votre façon de faire ce gâteau aux yaourts est encore mieux.
