We alive over here... 😂 - For real though, I feel it depends how you look at it. You all had some amazing success however different seasons comes and so it may look different from your view at the moment. Bryann T is doing more than anyone I have ever seen in the genre in a while and continuously setting the bar higher year by year for the last few years. As well another thought from my perspective running a Christian Hip Hop outlet our audience and music submissions has grown in volume year by year showing a larger demand however more online than in person. To me a key to having more CHH events and demand for the genre is if the church as a whole realizes CHH isn't just for kids however for all age groups 💯

I think a lot of the reason Christian hip hop is slowing down is because the style of the artist implementing Jesus into their music, as in it’s hard to reach newer generations because the style or sound of it, I feel like in some way we need some Christian artist to make music to be relevant to music right now, as in the style of Beats and flows, all while not taking other secular artist style, which is hard and why we need a wave of creative people to create music that is relevant and matches 2021s style of hip hop… (Which is kinda what hulvey and wande are doing in a way) I feel like if a person lets say loves that new Hyper Pop “Rage Beats” like Trippie Redd or Playboi Carti, if you look, there isn’t any Christian Artist making music in that area, so therefore people go to those big Secular artist and are filled with the wrong things such as money, drugs, sex, and murder… I think we need someone to do that while also not taking Carti’s sound… But it’s still alive like you said, and I hope it continues and even grow bigger over the time being :)

OMGGGGGGGGG you literal type the thoughts out of my mind.💯yeah that's the same thing I'm saying. Because I'll quicker listen to a gospel that has modern beat style. And yeah, they ain't have to copy secular artist flows or anything like that but create a new their own style, flows and so fort...

BUT u a G and I feel u and appreciate you far more than you would ever know! I shared your music with many unbelievers and WOW! the impact it made! "You think God is kind of like ya momma huh? like she aint even trippin on ya sinnin' and ya drama huh?!" haha! Do not underestimate how much music was a ministry to those who listened to you.. Maybe I didn't hit church ury Sunday , but CHH was my pastor and sermons.. Now our kids listenin to Beiber singing holy holy holy then tellin us where he gets his peaches and weed from?!?!?! Guidance?!? Yeah! these artists are believers too!! c'mon bruh!! Yes "believers" makin music which are "lukewarm" as we would say and leading these kids??? Having current solid influences which we rely on has become a larger issue! (not your job, but if not do not comment on it!) Stop being so vague and be a man pointing out the "thick line" between the two bruh like you used to!! Have atleast that much respect to young believers!!? Geez! Industry got you saving face now?? lol! I understand you as a man...That is not your problem (that is a lot to bear which you didn't sign up for, read the book!) , BUT the watering down of the music and content is also watering down the steadfast believers! I was blessed to grow up in the greatest era of Chh ever when my peers "taught me" a sermon in a song my father called it.. What happens when the music loses its "salt?" is it just concious rap now? Just an idea?? What do i lead my kids too?? some watered down christian rappers that the world is now mimicing.. they like "beiber made this God song and he also gets his weed in Cali and booties in georgia??'" I understand it is not your burden to bear, but when your Real talk, after the music stops, rebel and rehabs were droppin.. Your fans were locked!! We shared it with others.. That was you.. We were not making you something else.. we appreciated it! We literally helped you as you helped us!! anyways just getting back on subject.. outside of chasing your identity and being an artist not solely about Christ, but an artist who believes in Christ it had left us hungry.. You have the right to do what you wish, agreed. As we are all called to "work out our own salvation"! But please do not let your choices (as in this video) define what those of us still here are thirsting for! Just be honest and say you don't make that music any more! Real Christian hip hop does still exist! It just is no longer on reach records and is very hard to find! Much love to Bryann T!! Love you! Still do, appreciate and understand.., but just step away and be honest bruh.. It's not about Jesus like it used to be "Christ First" has become secondary to your own personal feelings and experiences.. Just don't cap on us all and at least point us to the next "bible teaching" rapper that will save THOUSANDS (or lead them to be saved) and not offer us the mediocracy of watered down christian culture implemented into current times and affairs.. Your music stood against this! You are so beloved in my eyes, let's not bow down although your cutrent thinking will seemingly disregard all of my thoughts based on primary independant goals.. I would agree it's not bubbling as it used to be. I was put on to CHH with When the Music Stops & Da T.r.u.t.h "welcome to the faith" Hip hop in itself is thriving but all sounds and topics been thrown in the pot already and lacks a refreshing quality to it. We need to get back to testimonies, the gospel and repentance put into good quality albums over who can rap the fastest or make catchy songs. I wanna hear more what Jesus did for you than 12 dance songs on 1 album.

I grew up listening to all of the gospel rap crews, T Bone wss one of 🐐. I stopped paying attention because i felt like a lot of the newer ones were too incognito and watered down. I want to HEAR and SEE and FEEL the difference between our music and the world. Great work crae

Please bring back the Unashamed tours!! That wasn't my generation sadly. I love the collectives of CHH like indie tribe., IVAV, Kings Dream (over the years), GOM, and RMG. There have been phases for sure, but the talent just keeps growing! Last year was crazy for the genre with projects dropping like HGA, Heathen, 2045, Restoration, The Divine Storm, Anti-Hero, Feared by Hell, and MLBM. As for this year, its great to see the competition of lower names like Wxlf, Angie, and Ringo drop decent projects.

Thank you thank you for this video!! I remember all who paved the way for CHH! I’ve been down with the genre since it’s beginnings and seen amazing growth!! I’m 51 years old and still support and listen to CHH. I’m even a DJ for a CHH group called Kin-Folk and we love The Lord Jesus Christ and this art! CHH ain’t dead so keep riding around town listening to this Jesus music! Lo I know that was corny if you caught that.

Grits was my first Christian rap group that I listened to, "my life be like" , I remember playing Midnight Club 3, and talking to my friends on Team Speak in a Christian gaming group called Soldiers of Christ, was talking about the rap in the game because I liked the beats but the lyrics were not soo clean even if the music was some what filtered for the game, and one of them told me about Grits, and loved it then some time later I found reach records, right around the time your song, Take me as I am, and Trip Lee's 2020 was out, I don't think Christian Rap is going away at all, that would be like saying Christian Rock is going away, and we have bands like Skillet who are still around.

I came from straight up hip hop to this and it was cool when I was still a babe but with more revelation from God's word I began to see the similarities clearly. The pride, the desire for reputation, the vanity and all the compromise is in plain sight. If the word says a bad tree can't produce good fruit then is CHH (with hip hop as it's roots) really even a thing?

I know right? I understand that he is trying to reach out more by changing his style but actually Lecrae is more famous as being a gospel rapper and in a way, it helps non believers to like him. I believe it's better to leave that style of rap (being a christian but having a non gospel rap songs) to NF which Nate is good at. Lecrae is more good as a gospel rapper.

Lecrae we appreciate the great insight that hip hop is not dead. Secondly we wish the best while on your personal tour and with maverick city that will be legendary, but we are awaiting the last episode of food and questions with you and mrs. moore. What makes hip hop is the msg, so hip pop without theee gossip it’s dead . Yes beats phase out but the msg in hip hop makes it stay. I know gritts , T bone , cross movement... and am in deep in Africa. But the new regime is boring me to death . Cause they don’t know who they are , the msg is just to confused 🤷♀️ empty like they just waiting for a chance to crossover if they can. However good we are the world won’t acknowledge us more than the secular artists. Am african I cant wear more expensive suits but rather I will do my traditonal wear and you can never gauge its price if am with Europeans . So let’s stick to the assignment and that’s we’re God will elevate us. Saving souls yo!

It’s still alive, but the Power is dead ☠️ CHH got me through a prime of my life that kept me off the streets and really seek God and I am grateful. However, as time went on I feel the more mainstream it became the more lukewarm it became. It started lacking that authentic Spirit and Power that it once had. Now, (some not all) honestly it’s just “feel good music” idk if it’s strong enough to get someone through the last days or to the rapture or sum 😬 it needs the Spirit, the Power

Thanks for this. I think people in my circles began asking this question post-2016. White Evangelicalism began to change, and that was a major commercial market for CHH. So if CHH isn't dead, how (if at all) has it changed over the last five years?
