Hi, I love your videos and you go thru some tough neighborhoods to get to work. How much miles do you get per charge and do you recommend letric being pretty reliable?
@occommuter14 күн бұрын
Hello, thank you. Yeah for sure there’s some rough areas but I love them. Right now both of my batteries have a few thousand miles so max would be 20. My Lectric has been somewhat reliable. I have over 7000 miles and have to replace the display twice and the battery charger. My motor just disintegrated last week and the bike is a month out of warranty and they won’t replace it discount or anything which I guess is business, but it makes me no longer loyal to the brand. I explained everything to them about commuting and channel, no mercy. The motor thing might be my fault because I ride a little aggressively sometimes. It’s a good bike but there are lot of bikes at the same price point and for a few hundred dollars some great bikes with better warranties. Lectric is 1 year most other companies are 2 years so that’s kind of an indication of where their head is at. Thanks so much for your kind comment and questions. I don’t have a bike right now but stick with me I’ll be back on the road soon.

@@occommuter thanks for your response! I hope you get your bike up and running soon! I can definitely see this channel growing in the future… possible e-bike reviews or trail reviews? Accessory reviews? Also, is there an electric bike that you would recommend? I’m looking to commute 8 miles round trip maybe 4 days a week in small streets? Thanks and take care!

If it makes you feel safe, do it. People who get annoyed by the red light thing are usually people who don't use a bike for transportation.

Going off your comment about cars going fast on Main St by Murphy, just before it goes under the 55, do you prefer faster car traffic so you can go faster too? (if you have a bike lane) or just lower speeds like along the downtown areas of Main St? (with no bike lane.) I figure they engineer the higher street speeds in sections with fewer lights and driveways into parking lots. Or you you find the faster car traffic unsafe?
@occommuterАй бұрын
@@kettlekorn471 Honestly I kind of like the chaos of Main and getting into tricky situations that require skilled biking in traffic but it’s dangerous and sometimes I just need to relax. The long stretches with no stops and speeding cars are nice until someone passes by close and fast. Bike lanes definitely make me more at ease with the passing cars. That section on south Main isn’t narrow but it feels like it.

What is so infamous about Garfield?
@occommuterАй бұрын
I guess infamous may not be the best description, I know that street goes through a few neighborhood gangs on each side, sometimes I talk with people I work with who are Santaneros about different neighborhoods that are more activated then others, so that leaves an impression on me, but I don't have any stories that would support it being infamous. It is a nice neighborhood as are most the neighborhoods in Santa Ana regardless of any perceived threat or danger.

@@GG-gh6hr I worked in utility all over from Santa Ana to Irvine and that area is one of those places you don’t want to be out at night… gangs.. not bad as south la but definitely want to avoid those neighborhoods in the dark
