Thanks for doing this video review of the SSM transmitter. Just a couple of comments: we went with the Lemo 3 connector for the small size and high quality. Many products use this connector: Sennheiser 2000, 3000, 5000, 6000 and 9000 series; the Shure UR1-M, Zaxcom, and Wisycom transmitter units. Also, we do recommend using the Lectrosonics LB-50 battery, as we source it directly from the manufacturer (there are many counterfeits out there). It will run over six hours per charge. The real test for the SSM is in the sound quality and of course, as you state, the ability to hide it on the talent.

Totally agree and sorry for any misinformation. If you want the best of the best, I go with Lectrosonics. However, a lot of low budget independent filmmakers or hobbyists can't afford Lectosonics, and my opinion caters to that consumer.

Thanks for your informative video especially the fact you mention both pro and cons. Cons i find generally to have more important knowledge than the pros as company products love pros while not mentions the negatives. I'ma professional doco recordist using various lectrosonic transmitters and receivers over the years (after upgrading from the Sennhjeiser G2&3's. ) I find now I'm using the G3 more due to their low battery drain and their use of AA batteries which is so handy when I'm away in remote locations. So much easily to have spare AA batteries than spare dedicated lithium batteries. The G3 are also great camera audio links on the smaller cameras that don't have a power supply to connect to. They are lighter and smaller than a Lector SRC with battery attached etc. I now mainly use the Tentacle timecode on audio track system ( it's fantastic) but with a G3 to send a guide track to the camera for viewing rushes in camera. So again I appreciate the video that compares the great Senn G3 to the great but far more expensive Lectros.... Glenn Martin.

Lectrosonics produces the LR receiver for this and they also make small (not micro, granted) transmitters that consume AAs - they even have internal SD recording now. Don't forget that most of the Lectro family are interoperable!! 💗
