In severe colitis involving whole colon plus > 6 bloody stools Admit in hosp and give IV steroids Final option after this would be surgery.

Proctocolitis is curable? I mean patient will live normal life or not?

Yes they can live a normal life but still it depends on severity Most patients come up with relapsing and remitting patterns again and again So we prescribe them medical treatment , if responding then good otherwise pt have to go for surgical option and again surgery has it’s own risk and complications .
