When phi =0, cot(phi) in the equation of Nc becomes infinity. Why the value of Nc = 5.7 then?

@@aboli_r_shinde For normally consolidated pure clay in CD and CU conditions c = 0, not phi.

@@aboli_r_shinde Clay soil does not have phi =0 always. Fora example, a normally consolidated clay will have c = 0 (not phi) under CU and CD conditions. So, if phi is not equal to zero, Nc won't be equal to 5.7 either.

@@abduljabbarkhan9107 for clay phi is always zero as it is perfectly cohesive soil while silty soil is c- phi soil .
