This war realy a great lecture. First a little excursus into histrory (Lasker vs. Thomas, 1912 - "The Immortal King walk") and than a deep dive into the game Akobian vs. Spraggett, 2007. How to break through in a very closed Dutch Defense? And how to block any counterplay by black? At the end of part 2 than finally two instrucive endgame studies. Thanks a lot, Akobian.

Kevin Spraggett lived in my country (Portugal) 'till late 80's, I remember to saw him on tournaments. I was surprised with this video !!.

God I love Akobian's lectures. The guy shouting out all the time is so annoying though. Put up your fucking hand!.

And he doesn't even think before he says something... shouting nonsense ideas without calculating the position carefully....

this is really frustrating me. i feel >Rb1 is the best move since even if black wants to threaten the g5 advance i think it loses. >Rhb8 > ...g5 >exg5 Now the line with better positioning for black seems to be from >Bxg5 so we do that, since >exg5 doesn't even leave g5 defended after the next move >Qxh5 and now rook is threatened, and black cant answer with f4 control of any kind because of whites pawn structure. I feel like Akobian also doesn't have a setup to defend against >...b6 since all the lines end up with black material advantage and king likely on a dark square safe from bishop. example using his actual move >nf4 >..b6 >exb6 >Kxb6 takes the king off the rooked file, makes the knights position much weaker with no pawn to threaten, and gives black control over queenside board. Unfortunately he never covers these examples but I'd love to see lines that win for white in those situations. Seems like black just misplays his opportunities.
