Bigclivedot has pointed out many LED bulbs overdrive the modules to reduce life. Sounds conspiratorial but with his explanations of the circuits it certainly seems to be the case.

Actually, they do it to increase their bottom line by extracting the maximum brightness out of as few chips as possible. The fact that they fail in such a short time is just a bonus.

hey, you shouldn't run them with no head sink, not even for a few seconds, they run hot very fast, seems to me that's what happened there, they started to fail right there do to heat, if you had your current control resistor removed like you usually do, and then test it with the head sink on, you probably would have savaged it. nice to you you fight the programmed obsolesce and trow away economy 👍
