This is a great opportunity for some of the American athletes to see the real China, not the one that is portrayed in their propaganda media. Those with an open mind and opened eyes will be able to see it and then they will be able to compare their experiences back in the US. Some may even question the claims of China copying the US when they experience the technologically superior infrastructure in China. It's a shame that the athletes weren't able to experience more due to the pandemic. In any case, congratulations to the American athletes who did so well and in making their country very proud. I hope they enjoyed their time there even under such trying circumstances. I miss China and look forward to the day when they open up again. I will be one of the first in line!
