Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

I'm 71 now and I got to see these guys 4 time in my life. I saw many of the greats; Fats Domino; Jerry lee Lewis: T-Rex; Moody Blues to name a few. Nothing came close to Led Zeppelin. When I watch these videos I still rock out with tears in my eye because they are so great they always stir emotions in me. To those who didn't get the opportunity; all I can say is be happy that you have awesome sound systems and the internet to enjoy them and their music. It moves me reading all your comments. It seems I am not alone in my passion for Zep. Their music will live on as did the greats of our past. Thank you Led Zeppelin for the great memories and the great music you have given us.

I agree man! The best band to have walked the face of the earth!! I'm 27 but they are still my favourite band and I am gutted I will never see them. I don't know what it is but they are just special!! My friend who is 63 now was a full blown hippy and traveled Europe and the uk just chasing the festivals and he said they were just mind blowing. And he still rocks out now. Love it man! Will just have to do our best to educate people about the awesomeness of led zeppelin!!

I was so lucky for many years, I played on the East Coast with a drummer, Nick, of Mirage who played like that! He was naturally motivated to literally live drums. He’d have a 12 pack, and count off the songs at crazy fast tempos! Like this, but he was so fucked up, he was able. The rest of us got used to it. I WISH I had video of our shows. Thomas Adams 11:11®

My God they were magnificent. 3.5 hours of heart pumping rock and all for £7.50 a ticket. There are some good rock bands around but these guys were from a different planet. ***** I was 17 when John B. died and I was only 14 in 1977. I probably didn't even know who Led Zeppelin was in 77 and only started to enjoy them in my 20's. Sometimes I despise Robert Plant but there can be no denying that Led Zeppelin was a phenomenal band. These guys deserve to be called Legends. They were truly the Kings of Rock or at least Hard Rock. And Plant can barely even sing now. He's lost all of his gifts and his looks. Time is a thief. Look at what Plant and Page look like today and you really have to go back and give those guys their due because now they're just old men.

modcraft13 It was a Page & Plant album - parts of songs were written in Great Britain & in the US. Of course, Bonham & Jones had their part in it - as they always did. It was for sure a guitar driven album. For the first time in the Zeppelin catalogue no real acoustic songs were featured on the album. Although there is an acoustic track buried on the song "Candy Store Rock." Presence was the first Led Zep album to sell slowly & the first one to hit the "bargain bin" in record stores. You can clearly hear the intensity & tension in the songs for sure, except for Tea For One. Robert Plant recorded all his parts while in a wheelchair.

There you are again angel....once again I completely agree with every word. It helps to have been raised in the great Era of 60's & 70's R&R music. Led Zep IS the Holy Grail, bible, or any other Authority when it comes to Genius. They just weren't afraid to take huge risks in Everything. My respect for them only grows,as I get older & am so bored with so much of what-ever they refer to as 'music' today. Everyone who was or is Anyone, learned from Led Zeppelin. Period..

Thanks well I wasnt a teen in the 70s but I love all the music of the 60s and the 70s I was born in 1970 so real didnt get too experience the whole beautiful music movement which was the 70 s or the earlier 60s which I know must have been fantastic aswell. My time was the 80s the early punk new wave and techno or computer beat music which then rolled into all the hair bands of the 80s. So it was alot of messed musics put together like pizza which was crazy back then. But when I first heard Led Zep I was in high school 18 at the time and this was when supposely metallica or alcohollica which ever name they prefered to call themselves at the tine this was when they were suppose to be the next big thing and just didnt quite get it done. But zep always grabbed me in each album and just blew me so far away. I never heard or even thought that a band like that could even exist or be real. They changed my ear in music forever. They were and in my opinion til this day still are the best. Thanks too them I learned more about and a greater appreciation for the music of the past like the 60s,70s and even further back. When music was real and alive and above all magical. Led inbodies all that beauty power and magic like no other band. Your right music today needs sone serious help.!!! I mean alot of help!!!! Theres very few bands if any now to have any promise aswell as all the other music genre in this time period. Todays music needs alot of work to be done! The music of the past speaks volumes over anything that ive heard now and led zep is the very top of the line cream of the crop you could go. I dont see anyone or band back then or now wrestling there crown away they are too me pure beautiful magic. Nothing even comes close. Just so powerful and beautiful at the same time. Like I said just pure Magic!!!!!! (:

angel ramon diaz I empathically connected to everything you said (and felt). Sorry you did not live Through those infamous times, point is...you got to appreciate the music of Led Zeppelin. I happen to believe they are the greatist groups(individually & collectively) of the 21st century(Jimmy Hendrix, in my opinion is in that category too). Sheer Magical Genius! I am open to all kinds of music, keep hoping to capture what I felt/feel towards Led Zep...I doubt magic/genius like that comes around too often. I know in 100 yrs.people will still be playing their music, teaching it in schools, etc. Powerful beyond measure & words....

Deborah Wagner- Tudor Not to burst your Zep bubble Deborah but Zep LEARNED plenty from those who preceded them. Matter of fact, if you listen to the first three albums, Zep took plenty from other musical bands, ideas, etc....They were not "holy" original. Start listening to bands like Yes and Genesis from that 70's period, more in the prog rock vein, and you will find even more imaginative and transcendent rock music than you thought possible.

Byron Gordon I agree with you there they learned from a lot of groups and influences previously rather blues or folk or old rock bands ranging from Robert Johnson, muddy waters, Jonnie Mitchell , Hendrix's , the doors etc. The list is huge. But through those influences they did developed there own style and way too play. Also they became these great sponges of musical knowledge. They could absorb from any band or musical artist or medium. Like genesis as you mentioned pink floyd Crosby still and Nash Stevie wonder fleet wood Mac etc. This list is long too of what musical they were able too absorb and capture!!!! But that's another reason why I think of them as the best and yet so magical!!!
