There are 5 songs from this concert that you can find online....they are all *must watch.* The lead singer, Robert Plant, and the drummer, John Bonham, are each 20 years old here.
@briarpatch7203 жыл бұрын
It was recorded live in 1969 for a Danish television station to promote their first album and introduce the band to the public. They performed on a tiny stage in a small room in front of about 30 or so kids who sat in stunned silence. The band had only been together for about 5 or 6 months, Robert Plant (singer) and John Bonham (drummer) were only 19 or 20 years old, John Paul Jones (bass) and Jimmy Page (guitar) were only 23 or 24 at the time. The entire promo concert is about 31 minutes long and includes 4 songs. Their performance has been hailed as one of the most pivotal moments in Rock history. Keep in mind this is a live performance in front of a tv studio audience, it has not been "touched up" or remastered in any way. This is the original recording that aired on live television.

Led Zeppelin was created in 1968 by guitarist Jimmy Page who also produced all their albums. The singer/harmonica player is Robert Plant, bassist/keyboardist/mandolin player John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham. The group disbanded in 1980 with the death of Bonham. There may be others, but one song you have a good bet to have heard before because it's been in several movies is Immigrant Song - try it and see.

LED ZEPPELIN 1969- 1980 After the drummer John Bonham died the remaining members of the band decided to end it there. In my opinion this band can not and never will be duplicated again. One of a kind band forever. There's many more great songs in the 9 album's that did make as a band. Check them out you won't be disappointed !!!!!

Robert Plant (vocals) & John Bonham (drums) were only 20 yrs old when this was filmed in the spring on 1969... Zeppelin rarely performed on TV, but they had only been a band for a few months when they appeared on Danish television. Jimmy Page (guitar) and John Paul Jones (bass) were older and had been playing music for a few years. "Babe I'm gonna leave you" was written by a woman (Annie Bredon) and made popular by folk singer Joan Baez in the 1960's... Zeppelin were big fans, and decided to make their version of the song for their 1st album released in early 1969. The story was that when the band were in the TV studios for filming, a woman named Baroness Von Zeppelin arrived at the station and objected to Zeppelin using her family name... She saw the album cover for the first Zeppelin record (the photo of the Hindenburg airship disaster) and screamed... demanding the station pull the band off the air. Led Zeppelin became the biggest band in the world in the 1970's decade. Their 1971 4th album 'Led Zeppelin IV' has sold over 24 million copies in the US to date, making it the top 5 best-selling record of all time (Just behind AC/DC's 'Back in black' album) w/ the massive epic song "Stairway to Heaven". However, they were hit by a string of tragedies, misfortunes & losses from 1975 til 1980... Led Zeppelin ended after the tragic death of drummer John Bonham in 1980 from alcoholism - they couldn't carry on as Zeppelin without him. Their records still sell in huge numbers - 8 studio records, 1 outtakes album, 4 live albums... a number of 'best of' collections... One of the biggest bands ever, next to The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC, The Eagles, etc. Since then, singer Robert Plant had established himself as a solo artist since 1982, working w/ various musicians... He did reunite w/ guitarist Jimmy Page in 1994 til 1999 as the duo Plant & Page ... performing Zeppelin songs in concert. Plant plays a more laid back brand of adult rock music, rather than Zeppelin's brand of heavy rock. The surviving Zeppelin members did play 1 final show in 2007 for charity... Plant, Page & Jones were joined by John Bonham's son Jason Bonham playing the drums. It was recorded and filmed for a DVD "Celebration day"... But no plans for any more Zeppelin reunions.

Worst version of this song I've ever heard. It was obviously before they finished writing the song because the lyrics are different. He sings it much better on the studio version and in later concerts.
@heliotropezzz3333 жыл бұрын
The song was written by Anne Bredon. They altered the words a little but I think here they either hadn't decided on the final version or Robert Plant wasn't yet familiar with the words. They'd not long been together and the song was probably quite new to them.
@AleisterCrowley.2 жыл бұрын
Zep I was released January 69, this was in March. Plant knew the words, he was fucking with Page the way Page was fucking with him, it’s just the way they were. Adds to their authentic musical brilliance, for me.

@w.geoffreyspaulding65883 жыл бұрын
This is possibly the worst version of this song I’ve seen……it’s not even the usual “Denmark” version. Whoever provided the link did not do you….or Zeppelin…any favors. Even though Plant’s voice is crazy good, the song never really takes off the way it should….Keep in mind that they had been together only months when this was done…at the very beginning of their 12 year run. Check out live from at least 1970 onwards. Studio from 1969 is great however. Zeppelin is my favorite band, so I want you to see only the best from them! Watch Since I’ve Been Loving You from MSG as so many have recommended and see the difference in four years. They own the stage.
