I’m glad you listen to Robert Plant voice off their first album. Early 1969 release date but recorded in 1968 late that year. That is one of the songs that really showcase plants powerful voice and the level that he can stream but not sound like a scream he just elevates his voice. Still waiting for you to react too babe come on home that song did not make the cut for the first album. But I think it should’ve Robert Plant voice is once again Off the hook powerful also dazed and confused from the same album as well. Robert Plant voice starts off powerful right out of the gate awesome reaction I love her you were speechless and that’s usually how people are when I hear Robert voice like this and the rest of the band

As a 17 year old in 1973, me and my friends went to a Led Zeppelin concert at M.S.G. in New York City. We were from New Jersey and drove in to the city. @Rebeka, i'm a 68 yo Englishman Londoner, so this group was conquering the world in my musically formative years: I saw them live at the 1970 jazz and blues festival at Shepton Mallett [the forerunner to the now legendary Glastonbury Festival] that summer where they were to top of the bill on the Sunday [Pink Floyd on the Saturday]. I thought these were pretty boring, in truth, and have never been much of a fan of their music. BUT it has to be said this song is SENSATIONAL and I am now more into their music than I was back then. Those of us that have loved this band forever, me since 1980, it's so lovely to see your face when Robert hits his first scream. We've heard this 1,000 times and in some ways almost become calloused to it. Watching your face reminds us of the spectacularity of even what for this band might be considered a mediocre track, but for any other band it would be their masterpiece. They have this a couple of times video taped live around this era, those his voice can really blow your hair back. What's even more fascinating is that every now and again the PA would fail and he would just go ahead and scream it over everybody else. Imagine that. Keep in mind within 3 years of this point, he would have the intellect to write the lyrics to stairway to heaven in an afternoon. Damn.

"Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" is in my select "go-to" Zeppelin songs when I wanna go raw and rock out, and even after all these years, since 1969, this (and almost every) Zeppelin song sounds as cool and fresh each time you play them, which is unique vs. most any other band. Fun fact...Jim-bob-Paige, the guitarist was playing Fender Telecasters on this album, but he met with Joel Walsh of the Eagles, and Joel helped him with a more rocking guitar the Les Paul. I first heard this song / album in 1969 at my 1st apt in So Cal. Also my first serious girlfriend had just broken up with me. This album helped me thru my first heartbreak . This album changed music forever and for the better. (I believe this is an audio dub of the recorded version. Terrific either way.....

Remember when I first heard this album at UCLA. My eventual roommate had a listening party. Stunned then, stunned now. The best band ever. Got to see them at the Forum
