They had their first rehearsal on August 19, 1968, they did 6 gigs in September, came back to England & recorded this album end of September or early October. I think I told you over 4 days, for a total of 35 hours, that’s including Page mixing & editing it. They came to the USA to tour on December 26,1968, & blowup America. This album came out in the US on January 12,1969, & in the UK in March. They recorded their 2nd album while touring the US, so songs were recorded in several different states & two were recorded in London. Page said flying from state to state, with tapes under his arm. They got different tones from the different studios. Another reactor I follow, does the album, then pics some live performances to do. You might want to try doing that too, because the lives are different then the studio versions, & amazing. Thank you & keep on this amazing journey.

@@WilliamLater lucky you, I wish so much I could have seen them in concert. Their early years I was to young, later on they were to far away, I didn’t get my license until 1978, & they never came back to the USA then. I had seen the movie when it came out at theaters, I’m just glad seeing the live performances on KZbin now. I’ve rewatched The Song Remains The Same Twice, & have watched Earls Court (1975) & Knebworth (1979). Great watching the concerts on KZbin. It’s not the same as seeing them in person, but for years only had the albums.

@@WilliamLater yes on January 12,1969. Boston is where they really blew up the US back then. Very interesting story about that, at the Boston Tea Party Club video, Steven Tyler was in the audience. Tyler mentions it when inducting Led Zeppelin into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, both are great to see or listen to.

I LOVE Zeppelin. I grew up in the 70s, musician/singer. I love so many artists from that time. Every band had their own sound from The Allman Brothers to Steely Dan, James Taylor to Led Zeppelin. So much phenominal music.

The song you are talking about is Go Crazy on you from Heart. Zeppelin came out first. Heart were big fans of Zeppelin. Another song that you can hear Zeppelin in also is Heart's Barracuda from Zeppelin song Achilles Last Stand. But you got a long way to go to hear that one if you are going in order. Enjoy it only gets better.

The unrivaled talent of these 4 musicians! They were so intuitive and in synch that they were a well oiled machine on and off stage!!

I know this song isn’t about them, but it always makes me think of them, leaving their wives & kids to tour. They loved performing live, but they did hate being away from their families for so long.
