Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

I used to be a big Pink Floyd fan, still am to be honest, but Led Zeppelin changed my musical tastes drastically. Their songs are so complete and the music so powerful that you can't listen to other bands anymore with the same love. Every other band lacks something compared to LZ. Even Pink Floyd sounds so emo.

@DR Evil What girl? You mean Lori Maddox, the groupie who claims she lost her virginity to Jimmy Page one time and then changed the story and said she lost it to Bowie, when she was just 14. The groupie who said Jimmy simply sent his bodyguard to pick her up and treated her well, but she felt like she was 'being kidnapped'. The groupie who claimed Jimmy met her mother and she approved of him dating her? Because if you mean that groupie then you really shouldn't trust a word she says. She has changed her story time and time again and chances are not even Jimmy was that interested in her anyway.

So sad that Zep were at the height of their powers as a live band in '79...and then Bonzo dies in '80. Lord only knows where they would've gone musically if he hadn't died. They had the creative edge to go anywhere.

You may have missed the time. But you can still dance around the bedroom like crazy. With it full blast. And annoy the neighbours. It’s young people’s personal duty. To annoy the neighbors. And Led Zepplin is a quality way to drive them mad. Our brothers in the 70’s did the same. Usually with Led Zepplin and the band Cream.

The Beatles have a rockabilly, almost childish undertone to their music that I can’t stand personally. And the fact that the majority of their audience was 15 year old girls. Yeah. That doesn’t help my perception of them. Sorry Beatles fans. They where the original boy band. By no means rock, more like pop. First rock band was The Stones, then The Who.
