Ten Years Gone is Jimmy's greatest writing. There's so much going on you barely have time to appreciate it all. Listen to the amount of work put in on the demo tape (2 cassette recorders used to layer) of what ends up being a few seconds on the song. Genius.

Jimmy Page had originally intended the song to be an instrumental piece; he recorded around 14 guitar tracks to overdub the harmony section. Robert Plant later added lyrics, which are dedicated to an old girlfriend who, ten years earlier, had made him choose either her or his music.

The best version of that song is on a pirate's album (sorry, it's called bootleg in USA😂), named: "DESTROYER", 1977 (one of the only good performances of that tour)....The final solo of Page, with the massive bass sound, It's, just, magic....If you can, listen to it, no need to react on your channel, just, listen to it and enjoy, for yourself😂That studio version is good, but, too flat, compared to the DESTROYER'S version (like the name😂)Peace from France bro ✌️
