Perhaps Led Zeppelin's most underrated song. A real hidden gem!
@jkovert5 жыл бұрын
I don't understand why people always say this. TYG has always been regarded as oner of LZ's best. It's on regular rotation at classic rock stations. Underrated by whom?
@PongGod5 жыл бұрын
@@jkovert I honestly can't remember the last time I ever heard it played on a classic rock station. It doesn't get a fraction of the airplay of "Stairway to Heaven", "Dazed and Confused", "Black Dog", nor probably a half a dozen other Zeppelin songs. So that's probably why people always say this.

I grew up with Led Zeppelin playing in our house. My dad was a drummer, a guitar player, piano and singer. I play the drums, my brother plays the guitar and he's the best musician out of us, my sister plays bass. I know all the words and how to drum most of the songs she's hearing for the first time and it's fun to watch her fall in love with Zep! I did at an early age. They're timeless. Led Zeppelin is just one of those music groups that can't be replicated. Many can play their songs fair enough, but never quite do it like them. Jason Bonham can, but he grew up learning music from his dad John Bonham and it's their DNA. But most of us can't, That's why they're timeless.

I found myself tearing up in the during middle of the song. Musicians and those that truly feel music will understand. If I tried to analyze my reaction, I would say it was a combo between being moved by the music and seeing a younger gen person that gets it as well. One of the greatest song transitions ever appears between 5:08 and 5:52. What the hell is that dissonant cord that Jimmy plays between 5:08 and 5:52? What ever it is, it's awesome.

If I'm thinking of the chord you're referring to, played with a single upstroke at the end of each line in the middle eight, I would describe it as D6addE (no 3rd). CARCAR: Plant was married to the same woman from 68-83...Zep was actually notoriously boring on the road, except Bohnam...More importantly, Plant and his wife lost their 5 year old son, Karac, to a stomach virus that took only a couple of hours to kill him in 1977...Led Zep was on tour which was cut short as a result...perhaps you ought to do a little research and examine the evidence before you hand down the judgment...Plant was a family man...The LED Zep song All My Love by Plant and JPJ is a tribute to Karac...as far what you 'heard' about the song's inspiration, Plant tells it himself. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Years_Gone#Recording_and_production
