The thing that I love about this song is that the first minute consists of three guitar riffs that any other band would have used for three songs and those three songs would have been their career.

Page's personal style is one in which at times he played very elegantly. Ironic that on this, Zepps least produced album which resulted in many songs having such a raw, gritty, guitar sound, this songs solo is to me, his most elegant after the one from "Fool In The Rain" As we've come to expect, great job Jun!

Something about your playing...youre not flashy..or crazy technical--simple,. very clean, very distinct, precise... I am in the process of watching all of your videos. You have definitely latched onto something here. I have a feeling you are going to rise to the top of the YT pages very soon. You definitely got my attention, and I guarantee that aint easy to do.
@brycea.3397 жыл бұрын
You literally played it note for note. I was looking at tabs for this, they all seems to think the first note is an E power chord with the 5th and octave. However just like you play it Jimmy just just plays the low E string and lets it sustain. Also there's the swirl effect so Jimmy probably used his Phase 90 for this song.

Awesome playing and a great sound. Bravo! While some of the other posts bash the others who made videos, I think its important to realize that not everyone is a maestro on youtube, and most are still learning, and post a video because they are proud of the progress they are making. Lets encourage those so that they can play like this one day. I digress. Excellent playing, great song.

Brilliant! You have that guitar sounding spot on, with your technique, timing and tone. One day I hope to be this good.
@learningrichard10 жыл бұрын
I don't think it sounds spot on, the notes do pretty much (note, I'm no virtuoso) but the effects are more psychedelic on this cut. I like this sound but it isn't a rubber stamp of the album cut. Isn't it amazing how remarkably simple it looks to play? I say that, but then I challenge anyone to pick up a guitar and try it. Just shows what a guitar genius Jimmy Page is.

jun626 - you always make my day man. my favorite zep tune, and i loved your first take on it, but this one rocks. this song fills me with a rush of emotion every time i hear it, and being able to see it played is spectacular, and very appreciated. even though zep only really hinted at this song in concert (intro sick again in 77, another show where they played several parts of it during a jam - honolulu early 70's i think.) you really bring it home my man. thank you for all you do. waiving.

I've been to London, seen seven wonders. I know to trip is just to fall I used to rock it, sometimes I'd roll it. I always knew what it was for. There can be no denyin' that the wind 'll shake 'em down And the flat world's flyin'. There's a new plague on the land If we could just join hands (X3) Traversed the planet when heaven sent me. I saw the kings who rule them all Still by the firelight and purple moonlight. I hear the rested rivers call And the wind is crying, from a love that won't grow cold My lover, she is lying, on the dark side of the globe If we could just join hands (X3) You got me rockin' when I ought to be a-rollin' Darlin', tell me, darlin', which way to go You keep me rockin', baby, then you keep me stolen Won't you tell me, darlin', which way to go… that's right Oh how I wonder, oh how I worry and I would dearly like to know I've all this wonder of earthly plunder will it leave us anything to show And our time is flyin' see the candle burnin' low Is the new world rising, from the shambles of the old If we could just join hands.
