The bassist is the same bassist on both tracks. John Paul Jones, he’s from Led Zeppelin. Very cool to hear these side by side.

Awesome, Zeppelin introduced many young people to the Blues. Robert Plant was a heck of a blues singer lol. I have this hi-def and love it.

You know I don't smoke pot anymore but man laying back smoking a joint in the 70s and listening to bands like Zeppelin Hendricks Joplin excetera. It was a unique time in American history. And especially for an English band to capture Southern blues sung and played like the likes of muddy Waters Walter Johnson b.b. King and the rest of the greats is a remarkable feat. I'm so glad you got to experience it❤

Walter Johnson was a turn-of-the-century baseball pitcher, "the Big Train" and he struck out a lot of hitters. ROBERT Johnson was the legendary blues guitarist around whom the stories of the Crossroads where he met the devil and sold his soul etc... It's OK they were certainly contemporaries but probably didn't know each other :-).

Playing for change ..John Paul Jones is the bass player from Led Zeppelin .. The original song was done by Memphis Minnie and Kansas Jos McCoy in 1929 and was about the great Mississippi flood . Led Zeppelin are a mix of blues and rock with a bit of everything else in between thrown in from around the world ..They are not a genre , they are just music .. Enjoy ..

Same here. No one should get near Zeppelin’s sh*t. 👈 Never wanted anyone to EVER touch this song after Zeppelin’s arrangement and recording was released all those yrs ago. I must admit, the first time I saw this Jonesy rework I was blown away. It’s an astonishing achievement.

Untitled.4th album recorded at Headley Grange manor in England where the band lived and played at will. Bonzos drums were set up in a landing in a stairwell with that awesome reverb! When the Levee Breaks is a 1930s song by Memphis Minnie, I believe... maybe some correction here!

It’s a terrible storm, the moanful sound of the wind(harp & guitar) The unrelenting pounding if the surf(drums) with cymbal crashing waves And the wind down of the storm like a top losing speed Watch them play this live in 1971 at 19 years old. Album only out for few months Magical night 🎊😎🎸 Song is over 50 years old. Match it with today?

Led Zeppelin - when the levee breaks ::: back in the day when this album came out. My cousin would put it on record player, Then space out by lighting up a joint and ascend to "Cloud 13". Not one of my favorite things to do, but those were the days of - sex, drugs, and Rock & Roll. I left those days behind long ago in the 70's. There are a lot of great songs by Led Zeppelin. I much prefer the Studio Version of Stairway To Heaven. It was perfect and in my top #1 of number ones. I used to rank Stairway To Heaven and The Who's Behind Blue Eyes as number 1& 2. Which was #1 depended on how i was feeling at the time. Then ELP came along with song in 3 impressions 29 minutes - Karn Evil 9 . The key boards are fantastic and I play piano. (or at least try to)

I adore this band! If you like them, you will like Diamond Head's album Lightning to the Nations too... It has one song, "Am I Evil?", it sounds mean, but the lyrics, why he is so angry, are moving. He was a child in the witch burnings. That's all I'll say. Please give it a look! Tomorrow, I'm going to see about Patroning you so I at least am paying to make these requests. It is the right thing to do. I may have to do a one time donation and jump to Patreon when I am working again. I have my own business, lots of demand, I breed cats, design websites, and make my own graphics for the websites, along with logos and things, in Photoshop. Jane of all trades, me. 😊

Beware of Jimmy Page. He worships black magic. Thats why he wears dragons on his clothes. He also bought Anton "Church of Satan" LaVay's house. I met him at a concert back stage on my 16th birthday. Zepplin STUNK in concert. 8pm to 12 midnight and they played 3 songs. "Song Remains the Same", "Moby Dick" with a 45 minute drum solo, and "Stairway to Heaven". No encore either.
