Nice vid my man. I really, really, recommend you get at least a light mesh riding jacket though. They're not hot unless you're not moving but God forbid you ever go down without it. Let's pray that never happens. Keep up the vids and ride safe my man. Nice bike too!.
@Ledface1176 жыл бұрын
1800Swagg yea my current jacket is pretty cool and has a lot of vents, but when it’s like 80+ it’s very hot. I should get a very thin mesh jacket like you said for hot conditions. It is a bit scary thinking about if I go down with just a T-shirt on
@1800Swagg6 жыл бұрын
Chris Mathy You said it man. After riding with gloves and a jacket I feel basically naked if I don't have it on. I haven't been down in all of my over 4 years of riding, but the closest call I had couldn't have been avoided with skill. I had a driveshaft fly off of a truck in front of me on the interstate and hit my R3. I didn't go down but I was very glad I had on my gear. Sub'd.

Sounds just like the big bore 450 I used to own. At 475 cc. With this coming in at stock 471.

would be awesome. You're one of the only riders making rebel 500 videos in the states that I've found. I'm thinking of getting the 500 pretty soon with abs

Nice! I am pretty sure mine does not have ABS. Let me know how it goes and thanks for the sub!

Yeah I'm still shopping around for a better deal. My local dealership wants 9,758 out the door for a new 500 with abs. I think thats insane
@Ledface1176 жыл бұрын
Dude that is absolutely insane. I got mine for 5500 before fees and shit. with feel and everything i think it was like 6500-7000

I kinda wish honda would've not used a 180 degree crank on these things. I think a 270 or even a 360 would sound a lot better.

What exhaust do you have? Its the first one I've heard that doesn't make it sound like its less than a 500.
@Ledface1176 жыл бұрын
Its a Radiant Cycles Shorty GP slip on. I got it for like 60 bucks on amazon. Probably the best slip on you can get for this bike.

Hey Chris, surfing KZbin for the best starter motorcycle and came across your videos. Good stuff in my opinion. What channels should I look for that can help with a first time rider? Thinking about the Rebel 300 for my first bike to learn on. Just because of price range for a first bike. What do you think? In your opinion, what are good ways to make yourself noticed. I see that you use your horn a lot but what about the bike itself? Louder exhaust, high vis colors, What???? Thanks man hope this was not to much for ya. Enjoy watching you video's!
@Ledface1176 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! And one of my fave motovloggers is cycle cruza. He has some good points about driving defensively. Loud exhaust and high vis would def help, but just predicting what people are going to do and being ready for anything at anytime is probably the safest thing you could do. To be as safe as possible, just make sure you are going about the speed limit. Excessive speed makes it very hard to react in time of anything (I need to work on this). The rebel 300 would be a great first bike! if you have experience with a manual trans car or dirtbike, then I would say you could bump up to the 500 honestly. But the 300 would still be a great commuter first bike! Thanks for watching.
@rcademet6 жыл бұрын
Cool man thanks. Yes, I thought about the 500 but price is the factor. Mostly just because it will be my first bike and if I don't like it then not taking to much of a lost hit if I resale it.....just my thoughts on that.

@@Ledface117 have you done any other mods? I was looking to remove the back fender but the issue is the fender bracket. I would either have to cut it (which I really don't want to do) or buy a kit for like $200. Then, there's the issue of where to put the license plate...
@Ledface1175 жыл бұрын
C B I actually don’t have this bike anymore. I sold it and now I have a Harley sportster Roadster 1200 which I’ll make a video about sometime. I only change the muffler on my rebel 500 and that’s it. I thought about doing something to the fender like what you talked about. I think you can just fully remover the fender fairly easily. But you’d have to figure out something for the license plate and tail lights which is a pain. But yea the 3 options you laid out are really the only options and you have to pick what you wanna do. I figured the best option was to just leave it stock and just upgrade to a different bike lol!
@Cam_B5 жыл бұрын
@@Ledface117 haha dude that roadster is nice looking. I have been planning on selling mine someday soon but I'm just enjoying it for now. If I was to get another bike, it would either be an adventure or dual sport/super moto, I've just lost my taste for cruiser types. I don't have the funds these days but one dayyyyy. Definitely a bigger displacement.
@Ledface1175 жыл бұрын
C B yea I really liked the rebel 500. Idk I just needed something bigger. If they made the rebel in like a 650 or something that’d be perfect. I got the Harley cause I’m staying in the same ballpark of modern cafe racer kinda vibe.

thinking about picking this up as my first bike but kinda wish i could find a used 500 the 250's are common as hell but i cant seem to find a used 500. probably due to the fact that everyone who ends up with one loves it and the 500 is only 2017 and up. Would you suggest this as a good first bike used or not and do you think as a new rider abs would be necessary? I have experience with manual transmission and some on dirtbikes.
@Ledface1176 жыл бұрын
Yea it is going to be tough to find a used one on the market, because the 500's started in 2017. But I think it is a good starter bike. It has some good power, but not really enough to overpower a new rider. If you have some experience on dirt bikes then I think the 500 is a perfect starter bike. If someone had absolutely no experience with manual trans' or motorcycles, then I would recommend a 250 or 300.

Kind of stupid to go 60 between every light and have to stop at each intersection, when the lights look to me to be on a timer to set the speed limit for intown traffic. Maybe why riders get a bad name, due to erratic driving of kids on their play toys. Not impressed with your driving skill whatsoever~!~ Grow up young man before it is too late and splitting traffic is never cool.
