Yes, indeed it is. In order to generate that much light and still properly cool the LEDs and driver it has to be. Anyone claiming that much light in a smaller package is overstating the lumens or going to burn out all their LEDs and drivers.

@@LedLightExpert Especially Those people who demolish a fixture for an LED retrofit, thinking that without a reflector an LED corn cob can do just fine at illuminating the surface while in fact, even LED's need a reflector to properly shine down towards the ground, Meaning that if there is no reflector the LED would barely light the ground at all. I have seen some REALLY BAD parking lot shoebox retrofits and they look horrible, no reflector or guts just an LED board! it is weird.

@@ALT-9167 That definitely is not the right way to do a retrofit for a corn bulb. Works for paddle bulbs and complete retrofit kits that have set beam angles, which is a fairly common recommendation when a corn bulb is just too big for the old fixture. But anyone tearing out reflectors to use a corn bulb is not going to have good results and might turn off the end user from the idea of using LEDs when the problem has nothing to do with the LEDs at all. That's why we do our best to educate when we can!
