More of this. Stick cam plus narration of what you are doing. Super helpful for those of us that are still figuring this out. Loved the last Rotor vid. Seeing your flying style back to back with the Rotor crew was sweet. Your style really stands out.

Hey Le Drib, Yesterday was the second time i ve ever flown a acro quad it's pretty amazing. I've been flying DJI Spark type drone for about 3 years which is enjoyable, but nothing like flying my new acro quads. You are the one whom got me interested in this hobby (THANK YOU BROTHER) and i appreciate the awesome content which helps me be a better pilot. Thanks bro!

Always enjoy these type of vids. I've an inckling that using this kind of mixing results in a kind of "tick tacking" movement of the quad from side to side. Johnny fpv uses it alot inbetween tricks, and consequently to set up a trick. Been trying to get it down for a couple of weeks now to no avail. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work on your channel, its a valuable resource to many of us.

I couldn't wrap my head around coordinating yaw and roll until I stopped trying to think about what the sticks or the quad was doing and just flew many hours on Liftoff with various camera angles just messing around and letting the quad and obstacles guide what I'm supposed to do. I still can't talk much about the theory, but most of the time I'm getting the quad to go where I want it to.
@AstroFPV7 жыл бұрын
Hey man awesome flying! I've been meaning to do an experiment with fpv angle mixing...so I guess I'm in the same boat as you where I like to control my yaw and roll mix manually, it's how im used to doing it and feels natural.. BUT if I want to change my camera angle, it throws the ratios off between yaw and roll and takes quite a while for me to get used to it. So I want to try using fpv angle mix to adjust for when I make changes in my camera angle.. say im used to flying at 30deg and i want to change to 50, just add 20 deg fpv angle mix.. BUT then I got thinking more about how much I'm moving each stick.. so to do a completely flat spin at 45deg with yaw and roll rates the same, you would move both sticks exactly the same left or right.. SO my plan is to set all my rates the same for pitch, roll, and yaw (i usually have yaw slightly lower) and then use fpv angle mix to adjust up or down from 45. eg if i want to fly with 30deg I would set fpv angle mix to -15, if I want to fly with 50 deg I set fpv angle mix to 5. Wow this turned into quite the essay, would be interested to hear your thoughts on this though, do you ever change your camera angle and does this cause issues for you getting the ratios right?
@LeDribFPV7 жыл бұрын
Lot of good thought into that. I follow what your saying. Would be really interested to hear how you like it, please let me know if you do it how it goes. Changing cam used to bother me, but eventually I got used to being able to compensate. I don't move my camera that much anyway it's almost always at 30 deg. But sometimes if I know I'm going to be doing extra backwards stuff I might not get up to 40, or if I'm flying a tight area maybe drop it down to 20 or 25
@danlangston40747 жыл бұрын
Whaaaat!!!???? @14:58 that was crazy, loved it!
@Athiril5 жыл бұрын
Interesting you can auto mix roll and yaw, but instead of a fixed camera angle, you should have the option of using the flight controller angle, so it “always works”, if you wanted that.

Good stuff Drew. You had a Forrest Gump moment @3:18 lol. The "feel" you were talking about is muscle memory but you explained it so well. Loving these videos. My flying is getting better every week, but it's always great to stop and think about what you are doing even if it's become muscle memory. Would you please do a video on smooth tic tacs (tick tocks based on where you may be from)? That's the one trick that I just can't get right for some reason and apparently it's one of the easiest things to do?!? Keep up the great work. Oh, and the danger level on that dive into the little copse of trees against the building was super high!

:D thanks Omar Not sure what you mean by tock tock/tac? Usually that refers to a collective pitch heli move?
