I'm 500% AGAINST the "Hot Roding" and to turn a fine, classic, piece of History in a bastard.!!! Preserve the ORIGINALS, dont destroy them.!!! If you WANT a Sporting Rifle, go to a gun shop, and, by all means, BUY ONE.!! DON'T TURN A CLASSIC, A PIECE OF HISTORY IN A HIBRID, THAT IS NO FISH, NO FOWL. RESPECT OLD THINGS. THOSE ARE NO MADE ANIMORE. ... "CLASSICS, NOTHIMG LIKE THE REAL THING".....

Ngl, it’s honestly cheaper just to buy a brand new sporting rifle nowadays

Calm down fella ! These types of sport conversions were popular in the 40's and 50's when it seemed like the supply of war surplus rifles was endless . I don't think that anyone would even consider ruining a perfectly good surplus rifle regardless of its condition today .

Nice…but please use screwdrivers to fit the screw heads for less damage.

Well noted. Bought some for the next filmed one. Not necessarily the next one released

Why do they upgrade them and make them look like every rifle ? The iconic look is just not conserved

It looks good, you might want to keep an eye on the bolt just forward of the magazine they can start to loosen after about fifty rounds if not tightened with a screwdriver that fills the slot.
@royalrestoration9322 Жыл бұрын
Good to know! I’ll give that bolt a second look before test firing

That bolt should have a lock washer to stop it coming undone cheers from 🇦🇺

@scottorgan2255 Correct, a collar is used so you dont crush the forend, and a spring washer helps to retain the king screw which is tightened until it bottoms out. Greetings from 🇺🇸

@@easternWashington. The spacer has dimensions of .375OD x .048 W x .474L. Item No 7 of Illustration 4 in Lee-Enfield Rifle No. 4 Mark 1* Phantom Parts Diagrams and parts list by Frederic Faust. Item 7 is not in the parts list. I measured several before writing in a note in my book. The screw is a 1/4 BSF screw thread. A British Standard lock washer should work fine. The 7/16 double spring washer used on the Stock Bolt is available from British Tools & Fasteners in Lyons, New York. The wonders of working on Land-Rovers as well as Lee-Enfields.

If you intend to do this sort of thing again, please, do yourself a big favour and invest in a quality set of gunsmith screwdrivers. They will make all the difference.

Sadly I have one of these Canadian No 4* rifles that has been sporterised. Can I obtain the original Canadian made wood stocks from somewhere?
@royalrestoration93228 ай бұрын
To be honest, one would be lucky to find repro wood stocks for an affordable price

I would say more of a restocking than a restoration except for barrel bands everything is already there.

Where can I get that stock set

I had to search for each one piecemeal online. Not easy to find auctions for cheap

@@royalrestoration9322 And that is why I have ATI stocks on three rifles. That and I hate the Stock No. 5 MK 1 stock. Can they be returned to service configuration, yes if at some point in the future someone wants to. If you would like to see a factory sporting conversion, search for images of a Lithgow Slazenger single shot 410.

All you did was put the military stock back on. Let me guess, you put the plastic stock on your own Enfield to make this.

Exact same rifle, I assure you. It would be asinine to buy two rifles in this market when you can actually restore it and buy a new stock for cheaper. Thanks for watching though!
