I ended up getting a stripped down one at a gun show once, missing a whole heap of the fore end and had some odd drill holes and strange mounts on the receiver... Turns out I snagged a pretty beat up and stripped down No.4 T (Sniper), so I got reeeeaaal lucky cuz the guy had no idea. I probably paid too much for a normal No.4 in that condition, but for a sniper? Definitely a wall hanger when I get to restoring it.

One of the few firearms which is relatively easy to get hold of over here in the UK. Absolutely loads of them for sale at my local gun store. It really is wonderful to shoot. I'm probably biased, but having fired each nation's standard issue bolt actions of the time, like the Mosin, K98k and Springfield 1903, the Lee-Enfield beats them out pretty handily.

The best part about the No.4 Mk.1 is that its ejector is a screw stuck in the side of receiver. When the brits do it, its a marvel of engineering, but when I do it I'm bubba.
@JR9979
@JR9979 Жыл бұрын
To top it off you dont even need the ejector screw to eject a fired case. The screw is only used for ejecting an unfired round. Fired cases are forced to ride against the wall of the receiver and this is enough to fling empty cases out of the action by friction alone.
