Lee Load All II (Part 2)

In this video I continue to go over the Lee Load All II shot shell loader. I include some tips on operating as well as some tips with setup. Hope someone finds this helpful as this information was not available to me when I was first learning

I use Winchester AA (red only) for my heavy hunting loads that I load on my Lee Load All 2. I use a Hornady 336 for my clay loads with Remy hulls. The 1st time I had a hull collapse (what you call bend) is when Winchester started using the gray AA hulls. I've also done it with the gold Remy hulls on the Lee. It must have something to do with the plastic because like I said, the red Winchester AA hulls have never been a problem.

BTW, I watched part one and two. You gave some good info. And, a little drop of wax on the crimp works great where you use nail polish. I'm going to try the polish. It may be faster. Thanks

N5KDA Thanks for watching. To this day I still prefer the green gun clubs. Thy are the most consistent plastic and get the most loads. The AA would be a second favorite. The Premier STS aren't bad either but those are expensive and not often found in the range dumpster ;)

+walkaf1 Well actually, kind of the same. The precision and QC checking every dozen rounds or so, the record keeping and test pattering records, assigning lot numbers, etc. Yes that does make sense. Believe me, most of us never see a patterning board. I'm guilty of walking past the patterning board directly to the trap range many times.

jo24pafisher this was a few years ago. Wouldn’t even want to guess. Whatever bushing gets me the load for my recipe.

how do you know the velocity of your loads? a crony with Birdshots seems risky :-)

It's typically listed in the load data. If I stray from the load data (go between to safe values) I average them to get an idea.

Can you load new unfired hulls with this?? Does it crimp OK using new hulls?

bigtoad45 i have only ever used spent hulls. I imagine it would be ok on new hulls since it has a tool in that makes the star pattern 6 or 8 point for the crimp.

How many round do you get from a pound of powder?

Depends on the powder and the charge but probably around 250 rounds or so to a pound. I never bothered keeping track of that but there's 7000 grains in a pound and roughy 30 grains to a shell (again depending on powder and charge).

Good video, but very long and drawn out .The time should have been spent on the very important setting up of the crimp , and getting the perfect taper to the shell nose with different wad and shot weights. Regards from an old Limey b I think all the rest is self explanatory to even an average FOOL!.

whats the difference between load all and load all 2. been looking at it. speed is not a must and im not a world class skeet shooter. just want to do it as a hobby and to blast clays

Man it’s been so long since I have been shopping. I believe it was something to do with the final crime stations and maybe the collets to resize the brass. Either way the II has to be an inprovement right. ?

Load all had only 3 bushings for shot, no powder bushings. Guage specific metal base. Load all 2 more or less added bushings. This, load all "3" added plastic base and final crimp plate to swap guages. Other minor changes. Dont bother with primer feed. Avoid load fast progressive, sizing issues in base. Load all junior acceptable, old handloader ok, funky mouths crimps at times, waaay overpriced on fleabay.

Why are you hiding your load data? Most of the load data is available for free on-line. Are you running custom loads?

It's a common thing not to share so if something goes wrong someone can't say they got the load from me.

+Frankdubbs_fpv Unless you're advocating others use your custom load data, I don't think there are any legal issues. Also, your powder data is still visible before you covered it up.
