As a harp player of many decades and professional musician, I must warn those of you who think they know how to play these minor harps, melody makers, etc. They have a note layout that is substantially 'different' from the major diatonics!! You will have to re-learn and develop an unknown flexibility for your brain to grasp a whole different set of patterns on these minor harps. Lee Oskar is a master in many more ways than one! Just an FYI, be ready to relearn.

Does this harp also follows the cross-harp "rules", or do I chose an E harp to play behind an E melody?

@@victorsomething1138 you are "mostly there' with your question. If you want play Em then you buy one that is an Em , This is different to the normal practice of you buying an A major Harp to play E Blues. These are marked differently. I like playing Fm so I have a Fminor - the F root note starts on either the 2 draw or 3 blow. These are playing Aeolian mode scale from there - you might be best to check the note layout pdf on the LO site and it will click in your head then.

Great video above, and considering purchasing a harmonica soon. Given the speculations from some who say either , F, Bb, Eb, Ab; would you definitely set the record straight and specify which Lee Oskar harmonica will best do the job for playing Supertramp's harmonica parts in their hit song, "Take The Long Way Home"? Asking the Expert.

If I'm playing over an Aminor-E7 progression, does anyone know what key harp I need? "A" natural minor correct?

For normal major CHarmonica,draw hole 456 Will give you triad Dm.

In the E7, you have a G# (major third) which is not the A natural minor. If you want to play the E7 you need a A harmonic minor

Or you can play on a C major harp, in 4th position (Am) and you can easily have the G# on the 3 draw bend 1,5 step or 6 draw 0,5 step
