I've heard mixed reviews on this scale, but never personally used one. It's good to have an analog scale on hand, I believe. Thanks for the demo!

Thanks for the comment! I hope that I explained it well enough so people will know how to use it. It is a very good scale and I use it to verify that my digital scale is not acting up.

Great why to check you weights.... I took my 200mg weight up to the jewelry store,they have incredible weighing equipment there, they had no problem weighing my standard which I use for my scale calibration. Actually they were quite interested in why I wanted to be so perfect. They even let me file it down reweighted it about 5 times to where it was exactly 3 grains to the 3rd decimal point😉and I use that for my standard now ,they were Extremely nice people. I do have a digital scale but it floats around all the time. Thanks for sharing🍸

It is VERY sensitive to changes in weights. However, the vernier scale method is a bit more difficult to set an exact charge. Like this vid, I use two scales to set initial wieght (set Lee to match electronic or other beam), then use this Lee scale for periodic checks of my powder drop.

Always allow scales to oscillate to rest rather than hold and release at the point of rest. That is best way to guarantee accuracy of final rest as it overcomes any friction on the pivot. At least that is what I learned in high school chemistry. I find this inexpensive scale is my most sensitive to changes in charge weight.

Thank you for watching my video and commenting. Really appreciate it. Yeah I always bounce about every 10 to 15 rounds just to make sure the beam scale is the same as the digital. I haven’t had a problem with comparing the two but I would rather play it safe. Once that beam scale is set, it will not lie to you. It’s the most accurate scale in my opinion. Zero is a white line on zero- a white line on 1- a white line on 9. If you want 6/10 , 6 must be in the middle!!!! White lines on both sides of the 6 with of course a white line on 6 also. ALWAYS 3 lines!!!!!!!! The number you want is in the MIDDLE. ZERO is in the middle of 1 and 9 !!!!!!!

@@pareloader5989 , you are very welcome. I have used scales similar to Lee in science classes in college many, many decades ago. Yes, I’m over the hill old. Lol. Your scale has very tight tolerances and is very, very accurate. More accurate than a beam scale that goes to 500 grains(RCBS). The table you set the scale on , must be level. Beam scales can weigh your breath. Enjoy your reloading. Reloading is a very relaxing hobby for me.

I can never get it to show one white line. It shows a faint one on either side and a slightly less faint in the middle. I got a digital scale because that just wasn’t cutting it or me. I will say once I set it, it seemed consistent.
@pareloader59896 ай бұрын
@@TheCaptnHammer when you zero the scale you are supposed to see zero and a faint white line on the 9. That’s just the way it is. I trust that scale over any digital scale out there. Thanks for commenting. I hope that this helps you. PA

@@jeffersoncarlisle3125 I started out with the LEE breach lock single stage press. I really love that press. I reload my hunting rounds on that so I can really dial in my reloads. LEE products are good. You just have to except that it's the working man's reloading equipment. I am going to buy next the LYMAN 8 stage turret press. Looks really nice and I have seen 76 highboy use his. Also I would invest in the LYMAN case prep express. It makes case prep a breeze and it really saves your hands from fatigue.

@@pareloader5989 cool thanks for the advice. I started reloading with cap and ball revolvers, LOL. I'm not doing any prepping on my cases yet (.30-06 and 38 Special) so I have a lot to learn. I'm trying to save up for a Rossi R92 lever gun in .357 so it will be a while before I get a press. I have some H110 powder I got for my .410 shotgun and hear that it is very powerful stuff. It has .357 load data on the container. I was thinking a scale would be good to have because I just have the Lee Dippers set. Seems like a digital scale would be easiest, but I like that the Lee Safety Powder Scale does not depend on batteries. I don't mind the slowness of the Lee hand tools but it would be nice to have a more uniform load with a press. Also being able to produce more ammo would be nice if I get into Cowboy Action shooting...if only I had more time and money ha ha....anyway, Merry Christmas from Oregon!

@@pareloader5989 thanks, OK I'll ask,would seating the bullet. 010 thousandths deeper in case raise pressure alot or isn't the power that measurable? I'm using RMR bullets for my .380 lcpmax 95 gr fmjrn .355 in diameter and .465 tall. I seat them at .970 overall length with 2.6 grains of hp-38. Cci 500 primer, The Recoil is next to none, great accuracy, but the bullets are only jumping out of the gun about a foot and landing at my feet I'm afraid of failure to feeds or stove pipes. I loaded 5 and all ran, I want to keep the small charge and no recoil , I want to keep the load LIGHT for my wife's little hands and not be so Snappy. I guess the real question is if I can seat the bullet a little bit deeper so I can get a little more punch out of it by shortening the overall length by 10 thou. And keep 2.6 grs. ? Or go to 2.8gr. And hope for better ejection?
