Saw him live last night at midnight. He kept pressing a button that made a really loud eagle screech blare out of the speakers. Tripped everyone out, fun time.

Check out a book "The Rastafarians" by Leonard E Barrett for the basic history. Rasta is a culture and state of mind. Not neccesarily just a religion and or lifestyle.

Umm, I said the band, not Scratch. Perry is the king of dub.

This band's criminal! Where are the Rasta's for fucks sake?!
@theestever15 жыл бұрын
His "proper" band are fantastic (more of a a loose rosta I think tho) - I've done some work with them. They know the music in their souls, not like this bunch of session players. Lee is always great anyway, so it's easy enough not to pay too much attention to the musicians here.

the mix is wrong, in a dub mix the bass must be much more "in your face" and not in the background like the engineer did here..... u guess the soundengineer is a rock guy and mixed like he always does....
@theestever15 жыл бұрын
I've heard his "regular" (ie, all rasta) band play - way better than this. This just session musicians who are too tightly rehearsed.

Blame Lee Perry for being a "rasta" bread head.
@theestever12 жыл бұрын
I've got nothing but respect for Scratch, but the band just seem very..."white" (not that I'm trying to be racist - white people can play dub too) and unRasta.
