What a load of faffing around the proper way was to have pulled the stuck truck out backwards using the rear of the pulling truck here in the uk we don’t bother with all that chromed bling it’s useless and adds unnecessary weight something you don’t need when you need to keep to the maximum earning payload

I drive heavy hazmat trucks and I dont know why these companies spend money on shiny bumpers that cover up the pulling rings on the frame of the truck. They may look nice but their very impractical. And it was a very, very Poor decision on the driver to park the truck on such a soft edge like that. Tell me, what did he think was going to happen??? Really? You're always taught from the time you get a CDL to stay on the pavement-period. Of course a 30 or 32 ton truck is going to sink. You're doing road work blocking one lane to an extent anyway so why would anyone not just stay on the pavement since zone comes are out to slow or stop traffic anyway for road travel. I've discovered in my 20 plus years of driving trucks, buses, etc, that out of all the divisions of classes of CDL operators from semi to cement to trash trucks that dump truck drivers are the most reckless and dangerous class of drivers on the road. They use the poorest judgement and drive like they're in a souped up 32 ton race car like their trying to commit suicide and take everyone else with them. I'd say 70 percent of them shouldn't even have a CDL due to the needless accidents they cause. They are a menace and the only reason I dont worry as much is because my truck is usually heavier and, longer than theirs. They drive like their drunk.

I agree, you'd want the best drivers in dump trucks, in fact any heavy truck that is operated in high trafic situations, around towns and cities, where most of them are.

He should have just called a tow truck.... Would have been professionally pulled out from the ditch... He damaged the truck and Thank God no one was standing there when the chain broke... Instant Injury 🤕 or Fatal.... Its like they had something to prove.. Smh
@leebee8165 жыл бұрын
We had nothing to prove, we had to pull it out asap because there was hotmix asphalt in the truck that was getting cold, by the time a tow truck would of got there and pulled it out the hotmix asphalt would of been cold and useless and would of costed us another $1,300,00 over and above the tow bill. Btw the damages were less than I have estimated and at least it was driveable enough to get unloaded and get back to hq
@Military-Museum-LP5 жыл бұрын
Pulling from the front like this increases the chance of roll over. The weights in the box not the front. Pulling from the back pulls the weight and keeps the weight to the high side reducing roll over.
@shortthrow505 жыл бұрын
I have same model pete our frame mounted tow hooks are only located on front. No where else to hook. Don’t even think about mentioning hooking to rear axles. Yeah some trucks are outfitted with rear hooks but not all. Problem with KZbin comments, everything thinks they know what the hell they talking about
@HoneyBadger3633 жыл бұрын
Negative, the truck pulling needs that weight to keep the drives planted to the road so that it takes advantage of the torque of the truck pulling it out, 10-4.

What would it cost to call a rotator to remove it with no damage ,,and how much did it cost in down time for the blue truck and a driver..now it will sit for at least one day waiting to be repaired and how much cost in parts and a new steer tire. unless they have a nother truck for the driver then he will loose time off from work not to mention slowing down traffic. better to call a rotator and to leave the driver there with the truck and every body else back to making revenue
