I just discovered this particular Lee Chan video. Over the past year and a half, I’ve been relearning the 37 form from his other video lessons. Each one focuses on a few postures. He slows them down and shows them at every angle, provides explanatory instruction that seems to be derived from from the Chinese Classics, and shows the martial arts applications for each posture. It’s a fantastically well-done set of instructional videos. I’m up to Fair Lady Works the Shuttles, spending lots of time letting each posture sink in before I move on to a new set of postures. I attempt to practice on a daily basis, and the entire project has really, really helped me mentally, physically, and spiritually. This video here just allowed me to check more easily for fine points in Master Lee Chan’s movements, to observe his flow, and to correct my mistakes (I just discovered several just in one viewing!). If I were in Korea, I would definitely seek out this Tai Chi master. His form is so beautiful and elegant, with no unnecessary flourishes, no tension in the hands-so similar to Cheng Man-Ch’ing’s execution of the 37 form. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had access to Master Lee Chan’s generous videos throughout the pandemic. 🙏❤️

Thank you! I’m so honored you replied. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and your precious teaching videos with the world. Last week I returned to NYC, where things are opening up to the extent that I can now look for a Tai Chi school here, to get direct instruction and guidance in the 37 form. There seem to be several excellent teachers here who teach Cheng Man-Ch’ing’s 37 form. I am so grateful for your clear and incredibly well-done videos, which are grounding me in the correct way to do the form. Honestly, I am already getting health benefits from practicing-it is helping me with hand problems, plus it makes me more energetic, happy, and calm, connected with nature. Tai chi really is a profound practice, and I feel fortunate to have re-found it. Thank you Master Lee Chan for your instruction from afar. ❤️🙏

@@pygmygodeus9450 William C.C. Chen. He can actually "do" TCC in free form, hard contact sparring. Saw him drop a Bak Mei practitioner in '74. The guy mocked Bill's movements and got wiped out for his efforts. Classic. Bill could really hit.

For those of us without the benefit of personal instruction, this is an excellent, comprehensible way to finally learn the Yang style short form. Thank you so very much

This a brilliant way to show this. Watching from behind is a more natural way to view this because it's the way the viewer would be facing. I find it so much easier to follow and it is great to also have the front view for reference. Very helpful, thank you.

This is the best video, and very close to my instructor and friend, Chao-Ming Huang, taught me for 20 years. We practiced together, and did push hands until his stroke 2 years ago. I miss his instruction very much. We are both near 84. I still practice.

This is great. I first learned the form on the Bowery in the mid 80's and have returned to it recently. This is the best way to present it. I started following in the back row. After I learned it well I guess at some point I was in the front row. Humbled to be behind the more experienced practitioners again!

Nonsense. The reduced contact surface area and lessened co-efficient of friction enables an easy on knee turn.
