top class, as a neutral to both clubs I never realised the recent rivalry between the two clubs, amazing footage. Now living in Aus for many years, you kind of forget the rivalry thing, Im not condoning violence, but it is so much part of being "us" just working class geezers, especally late 70's and 80's lol. Since Leeds were relegated from the Premiership both clubs history have been interwoven. So many dramatic games between the two, comebacks, red cards, penalties, playoffs. All of that with two of the most passionate fan bases in the world. Proper Leeds fans may enjoy the trips to Arsenal and Chelsea but if you ask most of them, I’m sure they will miss the buzz and excitement of coming to The Den. Well put together video although obviously biased, you’ve got to expect. I certainly am on my channel 🤣🤣.

Yeh went to Millwall with Leeds in 84 because it had to be done we were restricted to 2,000 with ID cards enabling you to get a ticket remember after game nobody moved missiles were thrown and both clubs fans got a ban on traveling but that didn't work either.

I enjoyed that. As a Millwall supporter vid very decent (was slightly bias). Anyway Millwall & Leeds both have genuinely pure passionate & slightly fighty supporters. Either way round at The Den or Elland Road the atmospheres are fucking something else. Been some belter games over esp the last 20 years between the two. Shame you didn't go back to our meeting in November 1985, at Cold Blow Lane, only our 5th ever meeting and first for almost 40 years. This was the first time we played them in the hooligan era and this was a mighty clash of hooligan firms. They were dark, sinister times, you sensed your life was in danger going to football. I'll never forget coming into Millwall that cold grim day, into a toilet of a stadium and feeling dangerous hostility all around. There was evil in the air. The return fixture at Elland Road on a sunny April day in 1986 was absolute class. Leeds city centre was packed from 10am, every train coming in from London was greeted and everyone was out waiting for Millwall. They brought their usual piffling 3 or 4 hundred.

Games at Elland Rd and the new Den are now well controlled by the Police mainly by limiting the number of away tickets , very early kick offs plus (by Leeds at least) by selling those limited number of tickets to vetted long term away season ticket holders who are often family types ,women old alcoholics over 60 and generally people they can trust . West Yorks Police go even further by sometimes 'bubble wrapping' the Millwall fans at Woolley Edge service station 10 miles south of Leeds which means they are only given their match day ticket at this check point and then escorted in . What they would really struggle with is a Leeds vs Wall FA cup semi final or Championship play off final where both Clubs get 35k tickets plus there are another 15k going for the corporate' Club Wembley' middle tier which could easily end up mixed and unsegregated . Throw in a 5pm weekend kick off ,a hot sunny day, the modern trend of hooligans getting on the Charlie all day and that scenario would suggest carnage and a virtually unpolicable game .

As an older Leeds lad, we now begrudgingly respect our counterparts from down south & meet up for beer instead of agro, but it doesn't stop the attention of the OB. Got 3 wall out of the boozer they were in on boar lane, with the intentions of having an ale - which we did. 6 of us, 3 of each in a city centre venue....with no less than 8 police circling us. This is just bollocks really. There's no rivalry between Leeds and Millwall. Just a club with a reputation to preserve when another comes calling. Millwall don't travel to Leeds in number as they simply haven't got a big following so their option is to turn out at home. Leeds are offered limited tickets, which are distributed on a loyalty basis. All pretty tepid really.

Its easy to support Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea etc as you know you will win most of the time. Try supporting a team pushed to the brink of its existence. Years and years in the lower leagues. Going to every ground knowing they all hate your guts and want to kick your heads in. That takes guts, and heart and BALLS. Its why the supporters of these teams are so passionate.
