Unsure if ppl can tell, bc it's difficult to see what you're doing...but FYI when doing the mdc she's only doing flo (front loop only) of the st dropping down to. Hope that helps.

I am having a hard time interpreting the chart as it does not agree with the photo for me on row 23. I wish that you had demonstrated several more rows to begin the main part of the pattern and not just the border rows. Do you have the instruction in words as well as the chart? Maybe this could help me further. I am rather frustrated at this point and feel like giving up on this pattern

You should clarify that this is INSET mosaic crochet, as opposed to OVERLAY mosaic crochet, which is easier, simpler and uses less yarn.

There are several types of mosaic crochet. Think of Mosaic as meaning colorwork or patterns of colorwork. Some people call this inset, some lable it a type of interlocking mosaic.
