My second outing with the Intrepid 4x5 Mk camera. Shooting with Ilford Delta 100 and Fuji Velvia 50 on a windy Dartmoor at dawn. A few issues with microphones but overall a great shoot with some nice results.

Do you load your film notched side first or rotate your back so you insert the film holder from the bottom? Weird looking at a sheet of velvia with the notch on the bottom!

Normally loaded so the notch is top right or bottom left

@@LeePengellyPhotography top right is the position I'm familiar with, bottom left is unusual. I actually wonder if I'd like that more for my B&W contact printing, puts the notch out of the way. Interesting concept!

Beautiful photos especially the Velvia 50. I'm mainly a MF guy too scared at the moment to dive into LF! I'm yet to use Velvia 50 and only shot Ektachrome (2018 emulsion) as I'm still new to slide film. Ektachrome has 6-7 stops of dynamic range compared to Velvia's 4

James Lane Hi James thanks for the comment. LF is tricky to start with but once you have a method becomes easier. Velvia is pretty unforgiving but the results when it’s right are great. I tend to find it’s either the suggested meter reading or slightly under exposed are best.

Patrick Un Hi Patrick. I’m using the original Lee filter holder system here with a polariser and a red filter. I’ve had it for years and bought mine at Robert White Camera shop.

Patrick Un Yes there are many to choose from now, I’ve used Cokin in the past but wasn’t happy with the quality so switched to the Lee system

Tom k Hi, I’m not sure is this particular app is available for Android but there are others by the looks of it. Even if you use the Canon one and convert the focal lengths ie a 90mm LF would be equivalent to around 24mm in 35mm terms.

Enjoyed watching this one, looking into what film to use when my intrepid arrives? Film wise,I usually shoot B&W & At the moment i shoot 35mm HP5 handheld & when shooting medium format (bronica SQ) I use delta 100. On day I will shoot large format velvia! Keep it up & looking forward to watching more 👍
