"Big props to all the self taught screen printers" We started 2 years ago. Still learning to this day but we have been sharpening our skills in the screen printing industry. Thanks Lee, your videos have inspired me on my toughest days when learning screen printing. I've been a fan for about a year and decided to watch your journey from the beginning. Thanks. Greetings from Houston, Texas.

Just inherited/ took over a screen printing shop from my homie who passed in January. I’ve been getting hella frustrated self teaching myself the ins and outs but after subscribing and watching your vids I’m back pumped to keep trying to get it and not give up and keep his 15yr screen printing legacy going. So big thanks to you bro for that motivation. Wishing you continuous growth and success 🙏🏾

@Lee you are doing a phenomenally good job man. Loving your videos so far. I started working in the fashion industry in about 2003 at a screen printing company and have few pointers you might wanna try. Apologies if you resolved these issues and mentioned them in later videos. 1. when creating your separation artwork, wherever possible put a 0.5 point outline on your designs. Then when it comes to your base white, make sure it has no outline. when you start laying colours on top of your base white they should match up perfectly and will give you way less registration issues. 2. when you create your registration marks, make the lines thinner, a 0.5 or 0.25 point. it makes lining up your registration between colours a whole lot more accurate and easier. 3. use clear tape over your registration marks on the screen when you start printing colours. easy to wipe away ink when lining up colours if you need to make micro adjustments to your registration. Keep up your awesome work man.

been following now for several weeks and I can say you def have the best screenprinting content on KZbin!!... and then I find out you just started this January!!!!. Damn man that's some ballsy shit!. I print in S.C. and have been thinking about going out on my own.. I have a goal to do vintage/retro style artwork on a smaller scale than the large production/low quality printing I am currently doing..You and your companies are an inspiration to work harder toward my goal! Keep up the good work !! We love seeing the progress you've made this year!!

Diazo emulsions are the cheapest screen printing emulsion option. SBQ-based emulsions come in one pot with no mixing required. They cure extremely quickly - within seconds - when exposed to UV light. The more delicate bonds created by SBQ-based emulsions make the emulsions a good choice for detailed work

I am currently on your step 2 video in my learning process. I have greatly enjoyed watching someone else go through the same struggles! I also came into this well read but with no experience thinking it was going to be easy. Oh how I was wrong! We actually purchased the same exact kit that you are using so it's been nice seeing someone use the same equipment. Today was a frustrating day with exposure but watching these got me stoked about trying again tomorrow!

Patience, test, check, measures, test check, measure.......... I did this 5 times before drilling my rear wheel rotor when I realised I had it upside down. Another rotor in post 😬 love your attention to detail, your video work in the past shows this and now your applying it to screen printing. Well done that man! Your not gonna want to hear this but if you can’t get 10/10 and make money a 9 might have to do. I am pretty sure your nine will be better than any other service you had. I started a successful business 19 years ago with hardly a penny to my name....... hard work and patience does pay off!

i heatpress all my shirts. my current set up doesn't include a dryer so it's a good way to get product out and offer something big shops don't really do. it takes longer, but personally i like the finish better. you can also test different wax papers or parchment papers to give it a different finish

I run a manual press also (Hix 6x6 with over 100k prints so far!), if you are having registration problems try pre-flashing your shirts...i.e. Flash-Print-Flash-Print. I almost always have to do that with sweatshirts, but not so much with t-shirts any more. Automatic presses have the advantage for multi colors, squeege pressure can remain constant where manual presses depends so much on the operator. Wait till you get into the 400-500 shirt orders, your squeege pressure will vary greatly over the job!!! Good luck.

I've been following this channel for maybe 6 months. I'm coming back to these old videos because yesterday I ordered a RH 150. Starting small because I'm in a 1 bedroom apartment. But I'm still pooping myself. Lord knows the last thing I need in my life is more humility. Also...90's melodic death metal for life.

Thanks man. These ones probably won't ever be sold unless I set up a little store on the site when it launches. My Thirty Eight Ride Co. brand on the other hand has all kinds of cool shirts, and now I'll be making way more 🤘🏻

I like your videos and the way you explain different processes, it is so refreshing to watch you explain how the BEST way to do things, so many people are HACKS, and do things half-ass if you know what I mean. Can you tell me which emulsion you ended up using and what white ink you are using on the shirts in the video? They look awesome!

Thanks man! I'm winging it here for the most part, but I know the theory behind what I'm doing haha. I ended up switching to chromatech WR photopolymer emulsion, I like it a lot. For the white I'm using Wilflex lava perfect white

What Ink and mesh do you use. You should be able to get a nice print using the right combo without heat press

The print is better than most peoples standards, but it'll never be the same type of smooth as it is when it's pressed. Getting rid of that little bit of texture makes all the difference
