I’m honestly kind of tired of interviewing 😅 I have a cushy job right now that I got through a twitch chat reference; this programming gig kind of fell out of the sky. Very grateful that I have a software job after working for 7 years in retail. The interviewing is just olddd. “Tell me about yourself.”, “Why do you want this job?”, “Why do you want to work here?”…it just feels so meaningless. I’m trying to build my own thing to escape this rat race. Most jobs are at will; your employer can let you go with or without reason and you can do the same. If your 9-5 is gone, you’re SOL and in the same spot as you were originally. By you learning how to market and sell + code on the side, you can build yourself another income stream. Rather than learn code to get a job, learn code because: 1) you enjoy it. 2) you want to build your own ship that goes places Just my $0.02

I have been working for a few years fulltime now. I haven't done leetcode for all those years. You only actually need it if you apply for MANG companies or companies that do these useless puzzle based interviews. I also don't enjoy Leetcode, it's boring. There's more to Software than solving puzzles. There's learning how to use frameworks, building scalable apps, architecture, etc...However spending 2 weeks writing a bunch of for loops has taught me alot. I won't deny that, this is back when I thought I should try this stuff out. I'm a Fullstack Engineer with a focus on Frontend Engineering & UI Design.

leetcode is/was necessary for 99.3% of the companies i applied to. the 0.7% exists but the pay sadly did not (was just average).

1. Interview process is designed to elimate false positives. 2. Leetcode is like SAT and GRE, is to used as predictor of instuitional success. 3. Past experience matters only to some extend, a track record that you'll be able to solve new problems. Leetcode is useful to find out your limit, and in turn psychologically give you on comfort on you've done your part
