What a nightmare. It sounds like this lovely woman's former "friend" is the covert narcissist, targeted her ex, lured him into her disordered world, and then manipulated and controlled him, as narcissists do. That would explain his bizarre behavior after almost three decades of being a normal, loving family man. If that's the case, he will be devastated when the fog lifts and he can see what he's done, not just to his ex-wife and his children, but to himself.

Wow... i am so sorry about your pain. I have so much anxiety about my marriage as we are getting married this July. We have been together 6 years. I guess as the day gets closer my what ifs are still there and I want to shut them up. He is sure of marriage and says he knows he will never stray. I used to believe that there is nothing I wanted more than an apology. I think I thought that would give me closure, but the women I’ve talked to that actually got an apology said it didn’t help anything. The only thing I want now is for him to return to being the Christian man that he used to be for the sake of our children and future grandchildren. I pray for that almost daily.
