Thank you Danielle! My wife has dealt with this issue for years and we have been to numerous specialists. Your video helped us bring a long episode to an expedited end. For those reading this in the midst of a difficult time - know that in our case, it took several days of repeatedly completing the exercise shown here. For my wife, she would complete a single session (exactly as shown in this video), then sit down with her head straight for two hours, then repeat another single session. Over a few days the symptoms consistently improved with every session and eventually went away 100%. Based on what we've read (and experienced), for some a single session will do it - for others it can take longer. Also, making sure you follow the instructions exactly as shown in the video helps - as you can unintentionally extend the episode by not completing the exercise as instructed. Lastly, I wish anyone reading this in the midst of an episode - quick relief! Tthank you once again Danielle for taking the time to share this outstanding video with all of us.

Your comment helped me a lot. I was so dizzy after doing this maneuver. It made me throw up afterwards, but sitting up in bed with my head straight for two hours (like your wife) helped tremendously. The next day, I was much better. Will likely need to repeat until the vertigo completely goes away.

Finally someone who chooses to show how it should be done and look when your left ear is the problem! It should be easy to do if shown how to do the right, but it's much better to actually see how to do it with a visual and verbal explanation for the left. Thank You!

Adding this video to my saved library- it took me ages to find it again. I first used it a year ago and it was awesome. My vertigo is back this week, and I’m doing this to put a stop to it. Years of problems that the epley maneuver fixes quickly- have to do it every year or so… just long enough to forget the steps and your clear instructions are so helpful! Thank you!

Unbelievable! I did it first for the left side because that’s where I thought the problem was. Nothing changed. Then I did it for the right side, and it worked 100%. You have no idea how grateful I am 🙏

Woke up one morning with my head spinning. Absolutely horrible experience. Couldnt walk without getting dizzy, couldnt turn my head to the left without feeling like the whole world was turning upside down. Urgent care couldnt help me. This was the only thing that improved my condition. Mind you, doing the maneuver is beyond horrible. I couldnt complete it the first time because it made me throw up from the spinning sensation caused by turning my head. Have a bowl ready just in case. Was able to complete the maneuver after the second attempt. Breathing through the spinning sensation helped. Then I slept sitting up in bed propped by pillows with my head straight. The next day I was much better. Still dizzy if I move too quickly but definitely much improved from the day prior.

I think it worked this time as I had violent vertigo on step 1, moderate on step 3 and none on the final sit up but I do feel slightly odd. Here’s hoping as this has been miserable.

Research found that this is caused by prolonged posture problem. There is a mudgle along the side of the throat that needs to be fully stretched. Its at an angle between the jaw and throat region of thr vlavicle. You need yo look over each shoulder and sort of tilt your head in a certain way to really feel it and it is important to do. If you work in bed or at a computer youll need reminders.

Thank you so much for this. I had the epley a couple of years ago at the PT, but they stopped seeing people due to covid. My sister gave me another one at home. She is a PT assistant. Within the past couple of months the lagging vision came back hard. I was scared to drive or even walk my dog. I no longer live near my sister so I looked up if I could do it myself. I followed your instructions and have done it 3 times. It is like a black cloud has lifted. I have a question though. So I never want the bppv to return, is the epley safe to do monthly or weekly to keep it at bay?

I learned so much from the *Long Version* for right BPPV: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jovafoKMmdx8p5o The tips and progress indicators are invaluable, as is the use of a big model of the ear so that we can clearly understand what we are doing in the various positions and why.It really helps me to understand how to do the exercises correctly when I can visualize the movement of those crystals in my ear. Also, other online demos do NOT include the critical "post-Epley" info to prevent you from un-doing your progress and "dumping" the crystals back into the wrong canal! But since my BPPV is on the left, this "short version" for the left is helpful--I'm not so good at retaining "mirror" info. Thanks!
