Finally! A fellow true left breaker, has a clean driving style but still hasn't learned how to balance the car using the brake and the gas while cornering, love it , love it

He is a good driver indeed. Neat job with the left foot braking.

Left-foot braking really is an art. Smooth driving. 👌🏻

For rally or race in the 90s when we were using the Wira 1.8, Putra or satria, we will use the Protons auto brake pedal coz its a big bigger so its easier.

Im using my left foot for braking since day 1 of driving, and it's been 17 years. And my right foot for braking when driving a manual transmission car.

Its still heel & toe for the Uncles from the Manual era, corners in smoother & powers out without loss of momentum (less strain on the engine/gears) 😃

This is giving me the Initial D arcade vibes in the good old days...which is also the reason why I'm a left foot braker until today.

Neat and fast driving, somehow the shifting reminds me of Initial D arcade machine 😆

He is a robot, I think. I shift a lot slower.

Next level is to left foot brake with a manual gearbox. It becomes much trickier and need to make decision before the corner of heal and toe is a better option due to needing downshifts or it’s a corner that allows for same gear to accelerate out.
@YSKhongDriving2 ай бұрын
LF braking is a technique best for cars that allow clutchless shifting.
@A2KLAU2 ай бұрын
@@YSKhongDriving agree with you Uncle, however there are some drivers who have the talent and feel to use this technique on manual cars too. Misha Charoudin is a KZbinr and Nurburgring meister who has that skill. Seeing him drive is quite an experience.

I tend to disagree. Many Rally drivers from manual era do left foot to balance, the car, trail brake, and its a skill that has to be mastered. For rally, its a different ball game all together to feel the brake and what actually u what to achieve with left foot. For track, u can also do it and ave a bit of time. For sepang's case, you can trail brake at the first corner after you downshift. But remember, for rally u have brake bias to balance when left foot braking

I only use left foot breaking when parked on a steep slope and moving out. My auto car has a foot brake rather than hand brake.

This ia different from what you are talking about.

Why not using his paddle shifters, but jamming the gear stick instead?

Maybe easier to find when he is turning the wheel.

I may be middle age, but I'm still learning. Is left-foot braking in an auto car a thing? What are the advantages of this mode of driving? What model of Renault is this? Those who have the answers, do let me know. Thanks in advance.
@joel-lj7ex2 ай бұрын
yes. its called trail braking usually used in racing. By using the brakes into the apex of the corner. it shifts the weight to the front tyres allowing you to fully drive on the limit of grip and getting the car's rear end to slightly slip out and rotate into the corner at higher entry speed.
@andrewrix60652 ай бұрын
1. Faster reaction time to braking as left foot is always near or hovering over the brake, advanced drivers actually keep their left foot on the brake without depressing it. 2. More control of the car, for eg, able to smoothly transition between braking and acceleration, which keeps the car stable and more planted to the ground. 3. Improves driver's center of gravity as both feet are being used, think of it this way, you have better control using two hands on the wheel, the same applies to foot control 4. Faster race starts. This can be seen in practically every race video, where the car is balanced between brake and gas prior to launch 5. A sense of connection with the car that is akin to what manual drivers feel by shifting gears 6. There are even more reasons but I'm sure you get the idea

I would prefer leaving left foot on the brakes so faster when need to depress it even when rarely throttle-braking🤓
