Yes and so often overlooked. Such an unfortunate thing because to me the hi-hat can make or break a groove. Love your way of thinking. Thanks again for checking out the video!

But so is the entirety of the drum set- not meaning to knock your comment
@JuanCarlitoMendoza4 жыл бұрын
@@Leftdeopard yeah totally understand, but I would say the hi hat is the most overlooked and under explored instrument on the drum set. There's a lot of subtleties there including different pressure points in both hand and foot that need to be explored. But I get what you mean.

All the best to you and yours in 2021, Juan. What a great way to start out the New Year. Thanks for another incredible and supremely groovy lesson. Really appreciate your generosity with the PDFs, too. Speaking of which, may I ask what you use to "write out" your drum parts on a computer? I love the way your charts look. This "intro" gibberish @0:41 sounds so fake ;/ I think even know where you took it from - but, please, stop. It's not you.

With all due respect, you don’t really know me. This year it’s time to bring my personality out and give you an insight of who I am. If it’s not your cup of tea, it’s all good man. I can’t please everyone and I know that. But you commenting on MY personality is like me saying your life is easy and you’re entitled, yet I have no idea about you, your situation and your life. Level up this year and be a better human my man.

With all due respect: not sure what I really stepped on there, but seems it is quite sensitive for some reason. That wasn't my intention. The point is that for me, if someone is saying "hi!" for years and then out of sudden starts to be over-friendly in the way s/he wasn't even partially before, then it simply makes the internal red light to flash. What works for some do not work for others. I simply do not buy it IRL and I do not buy it on YT or elsewhere. Hope I am still allowed to judge my way, despite your (over)reaction. And I am not commenting on your personality at all because, as you kindly noticed, we do not know each other in person. Why would I even do that? I am here for your great music craft and skills in the first place, so I am sorry you all these (blind guess) 13 y/o junk morons/trolls/haters have had affected the way you perceive any criticism. Also while I dislike that, as I mentioned already, it's your channel and you are free to build it as you like. If what you do gives you more gains than loses, then it means it's works for you. Simple as that. PS: Let me be a di*k for a moment: "Level up this year and be a better human my man." - are you saying I am bad man, because I dare to consider your behavior artificial/fake? Would it make me "better human" if I lie that I like what I saw? Think it over. Please.

@@Borszczuk Hey man, I'm going to be as transparent as possible with you right now. You absolutely have the right to judge me, critique me, have your opinions about me, analyze my body of work, be passive/aggressive, etc. I'm totally cool with that (everyone does that on a daily basis) and that will never go away. However, did it ever occur to you that maybe what you have seen from me in the past is because I was lacking confidence? Did it ever occur to you that because I was obese, uncomfortable/unconfident with my appearance that it contributed to my lack of confidence on camera? Did it ever occur to you that KZbin was the platform I chose to make videos so I could help people from all over the world because it was something I promised myself to continue to do because lots of people aren't lucky enough to have the resources to afford private lessons? So even though I was making these videos with my "lack of energy," it was my therapy to get out of a funk and keep a promise to myself. Am I looking for a pity party from you or anyone else? No, but I do mention these things because YOU DON'T KNOW what I've been through, you don't know my daily struggles, you don't know my insecurities, etc. So now that I finally did something for myself and have a new confidence about myself you're telling me, I'm fake (that's ok that's your opinion). The only reason I am even addressing this is, people from all over this world are going through things every day (I'm sure you are too), and are lacking the confidence to even say something. All I'm saying to you is be careful with what you say man. You don't know what people are struggling with internally (even if you didn't mean it in a certain way). Did what you say trigger me? Yes (you win congrats), but I just refuse for someone to judge my integrity. As far as "leveling up," all I meant by that is, just be better in life. Think it over please 😉 and if you follow me or unfollow me it's ok, but you're more than welcomed on my channel and hopefully learn something. Have a nice day and I've said everything that I needed to say. ✌️

@Juan, first thing first - it went far beyond I imagined. It's completely not worth the time nor effort. Let's stop and settle it down. And, NO, I did not wanted to trigger you for a sake of my enjoyment, neither I won anything. I am going to delete my former comment (feel free to do that on my behalf once you read this reply!). Screw it, man. That's sick. It's completely irrelevant.

@@Borszczuk Hey man don't delete it! It's cool man, we are all adults here and maybe it was something that I just needed to let people know why. So I'm totally cool with it. It's over for sure, but I think this was something positive and we are adults man. I have no bad feelings towards you at all.
