I love the way you fix all kinds of Anything. It’s certainly good to see old school thinking and working, not just changing parts. Thanks

I have used a bottle jack to straighten a bent cutterbar. You get a log chain, bolt it down on each side of the bend using bolts bolted through the cutterbar. Put the chain on top of the jack and jack down the hump.

My next job is adjusting the floor behind the knife on my 1020-20 so this was a helpful video. I hope you unhook the battery when you weld on your combine. There’s a lot of electronics in a 2388 that you can fry

It's funny how a rock can bend it up, but look how much work it took to get it back! Good Job!

Excellent video Brandon :) , your Dad don't be shy on video or camera :) , George :) also Brandon remember my dad damaged grain head on cutter board by some rocks year ago and only header for combine! We couldn't find good parts so had rebuilt cutting board and bend in same area in middle like guy one bean head one! We had use 2 Loader tractor Desiel motor chains tow metal rope too pull bend out and straight up cut board plus fingers and blades broken to! Plus torch heat 🔥 some too and was 4 days take apart but 3 days assembly back together! What lucky part the 1964 McCormick International Sickle Mower pull type was same as 1968 McCormick International 105C combine gas motor on 2 carraige bolt fingers and knifes 🔺️ 2 pop rivets each same both things Lol ! Save money because my dad always bought extras parts save for repairs times to and when I did repairs lots to same things so had double parts extras Lol! It was smart ways doing it and especially days was want get things fix and go to it !

That is the first header i've seen with fingers the full length. Yrs ago the neighbor told me it was impossible to weld over head! Dad told him , I could make it look as good up side down , as rite side up!
@dirtgrainsteel
@dirtgrainsteel Жыл бұрын
I just hope the fingers don't cuase alot of head shell....the sparks are what is the bad part of over head lol in the this video when I was cutting with the torch some hot stuff went down my shirt I kept my composure though lol
@williammatzek4660
@williammatzek4660 Жыл бұрын
@@dirtgrainsteel yes the sparks are the bad part , the good part is we can keep are equipment going. We get to save some money! I'm replacing hydraulic lines. One was rite , the other was bowed badly , after several hours gently fixing it , it's the wrong line. Glad i'm not needing the tractor rite now.

neat re bending to fix the rock damage! especially in the cycle bar! keep an eye on the polishing of the cutter see if it is ok, or needs more tweaking. great find, happy harvesting!
